Welcome to the forum. :)

That is a very pretty watch.|>

In the description of the site for your re-issue WUXING (five-star) watch there is the story. I heard that only two original watches were made, and only one exists now at Seagull factory museum. I will see if I can find an image of the original WUXING watch FYI.

There has been a few threads in recent months about Wuxing, WuYi and Dong Feng reissues from Sea-Gull. Do a search if you're curious (I'd offer some links but my browser is about to melt down)

When this forum first embarked on a design project, one of the proposals was for a Wuxing homage with the logo exactly as it was onthe original.

Given that we have recently seen some 'private label' Tianjin homages built-to-order by Sea-Gull in parallel with Sea-Gull's own homage models, how long will it be before somebody orders a batch of Wuxing watches with 5 (red?) stars on the dial?

I saw a few images of the original WUXING, but I believe this one with five stars looks more correct to its WUXING name.
I just saw this on the Good Stuffs website. I don't think they really look alike. The original has no date, five stars, a larger crown, and probably a smaller diameter. How they can call that a "reissue" is beyond me. Pass.

I have one of this. Beautiful watch but with plain stainless steel back. The explanation given to me by seagull sales manager for the plain back is because the original (believe only 2 were made) was plain. Even the stock strap is really plain and old style. I won't call it a reissue as it not exactly the same as the original... I guess "inspired" would be a better term. But it's a beautiful watch, runs well and accurate, at an affordable price so I bought it. Love the minimalist look.

While we're discussing about this watch...I'm contemplating on changing the straps on this one...but still thinking about what would go well with this dressy watch.

Any good suggestions?

A rich dark brown textured(not croc!) strap with enough red tones to bring out the cream in the dial. Something like a buffalo or fine grain leather would work well :)
