I have a question about bezel design in the Heuer Carrera from '70. Most watches I could find have tachometer scale from 60 do 500, like those:

however mine has different scale, from 50 to 200:

Anybody knows why? Any Heuer historians here? Is it early design and if so from which years? Ho rare are they?

Not particularly rare, but was primarily used on the early models and then on later dials/models it changed to the 60-500 range, but from what I've read the 50-200 range was also mixed in with later models as well.

There is no hard fixed data as Heuer didn't record much of anything back then.

My guess would be that the 50-200 range was first used as that would cover most car speeds, but then many other things could be measured with a tachy scale so maybe that's why the scale changed to 60-500 to accommodate this.....although how many people actually ever used the scale?
