I think it should work but the stem lengths are different so you'd need to get a new one and trim it down. I've never swapped a movement myself, this is just what I've heard from people who do NH36 upgrades.

 

It’s a direct swap.

Depending on the watch case, you or may not have to swap out the plastic holder ring that surrounds the movement.

What case are you using?

Not sure what case yet. There just seems to be a lot more cases available for the NHxx vs the 7s26

Any reason you wouldn't just get the NH movement? They're pretty cheap as far as I know and the NH36 offers hacking and hand winding compared to the 7s.

 

I have a spare 7s26 hanging around that I wanted to use in a project.
I can see what you mean about the NH being cheap though.
Almost worth me hugs starting a whole new project?!!

You can use the NH/4R stem into a 7S movement (but not the other way around)

Hi everyone, I know that this is an old post but I was browsing the web for ways to make a mod for a 7s26 movement and I happen to find your discussion. My project is to move a 7s26 movement along with the dial and hands from a Seiko SNK621 and apply it to a seiko 'samurai' case. Do I need a new spacer (or anything else for that matter) or it's a direct swap? I know that the step needs to be replaced to fir the new case but other than that no clue!
