Nice catch :-! with the rare calibre 2256 and papers too!

I bought a late-model Chaika Red Star for a friend that had the same case as this, only with the flat mineral crystal. Of course it had the mechanical calibre 1601. I think that case has been used for many different recent Chaika men's models, both mechanical and (Japanese) quartz. But yours is a much rarer piece.

The rate trimmer applies some kind of mathematical correction to the output from the occillator. It used to be a common feature, but rarely seen on modern quartz. Elektronika still use an incremental adjustment via the buttons on the watch so that you don't need to open it to make the correction.
