Sorry for the quick and dirty snaps-a thunderstorm was coming and I only had a few minutes to take these. :) I grouped these 3 together because they share so much in common, and I like how the G-shock "shield" is prominently located at the bottum middle of the display on each of these models.

Some shots of the DW-5000ML, GW-5000-1JF, and the DW-5600C

The DW-5000ML and the new GW-5000 share the same dimensions for case (also with the current DW-5600E), with the very minor exception that the GW-5000 is 13.5mm thick, whicjh is about 0.10mm for those keeping score.

The GW-5000 next to the DW-5600C SPEED model :-!

Case side shots. Agian the models from left to right are DW-5000ML, GW-5000-1JF, and the DW-5600C

Case back shots are in the same order as above. Nice to have a Made in Japan screwback on the wrist ;-)

OOPS! Sorry about those fingerprints! :-d

And finally a pic of my old G-5600-9JF, which needs to go back to Japan, due to "recovery" issues

Are the gw-5000's straps thicker and softer than your other 5600s?

Softer? Yes, but I don't think they are thicker. Really I think you could swap out the bezel and strap on the 5000 for any 5600E versions due to the cases being the same dimensions.

Awesome pictures. I have been itching to compare the new GW-5000 with the older screwbacks ones, and your pictures are just PERFECT! Ah it makes me want to buy the GW-5000. I hope they release it in the US, so I can pick it up at a reasonable price.
