Let's say you bought the watch 1955,
99.99
10% yearly interest you can earn if u invested elsewhere
in 55 years (2010), compounded annualy
the cost of that watch today is $18,904! :-!

Also, considering that it was 99.99 55 years ago, and today let's use 2400 for a trainmaster power reserve as a comparison, the Ball watch prices have been increasing at an annual price increase of 5.95%! ;)

I ran that through an inflation calculator. $100 in 1955 equates to $792 in 2009 dollars. Who says offshoring manufacturing is cheaper! :-d

I'm sitting here admiring this little bugger and it dawns on me, this is the first ball wristwatch that's older than ME, that I've ever seen. Then it occurs to me that it's probably in better running shape than I'm in too !! Nice find Clayton whether it was 99.99 or 999.99 or anywhere between.
