The link was just an example of how the opener I use looks like. There are a lot of similar ones one the web (Amazon, eBay etc.) so it would be best to read some reviews before ordering a certain model. Mine was part of a bigger watchmaking toolbox and is a rather cheap one so I have to be a bit careful when using it. But I got used to it.

Anyone know where I can get a single golden rotor screw for Vostok Automatics (2431 movement) preferably in the UK or Europe (vostok-watches24 is to expensive for one screw)

I am not in need of it for the movement its just I want to to swap it out so its not that big a deal.

Cheers

Contact a jeweler, the jeweler will put a gold coating on your screw.

Has anyone ever tried repainting a Vostok "bakelite" bezel, such as the one on this Amphibia "antimagnetic" (320161)? Some of the black paint has flaked off and the lume pip is missing.

It looks to me that these bezel inserts (probably made from acrylic?) are transparent and painted from the underside. Question is, how do I get the insert out without breaking it? Is it glued in or just a friction fit? The bezel already has plenty of dents on the outside, so I wouldn't be worried too much about bending it slightly.

The insert in the swivel bezel is made of acrylic. To remove the acrylic insert from the swivel bezel, it is necessary to first remove/dismantle the bezel from the watch, then carefully loosen the rolling of the inner and outer edges of the swivel bezel case (the case of the swivel bezel in the USSR was made of brass with subsequent coating), then carefully pry and remove the acrylic insert of the swivel bezel with a plastic/wooden spatula. It is unacceptable to wash the bezel with an acrylic insert in an ultrasonic sink!

Hello
I don't visit this site frequently so have a few questions regarding buying my first Vostok Amphibia watch.
First question should i buy them from Amazon or eBay. The reason I am asking if it is a good idea to buy from Amazon because some models have low reviews rating there, for example 710335 I am considering
Second question is it a good idea to buy them with the leather strap and get a rubber or resin one separately or it's better get any Nato strap offered and buy both leather and diving strap separately.
Also any recommendations on diving strap would be very appreciated
Just discovered model 100315 on Amazon but product description says 'Assembled for US sales by Sputnik technologies. The reason I am interested in those because it has a dial closest so far to what I am looking for

I'd recommend buying Vostoks from Russian Shops like Meranom or Komandirskie.com, even though transport costs have risen significantly due to the Ukraine war. They offer a wide range of different models and better prices.
Concerning straps I'd always buy a strap from CNS (or any other strap seller on the web) or AliExpress. The stock Vostok straps (steel as well as leather) are usually crap.

100315 - стандартная модель для продажи.:)

I recommend buying from Amazon. If you are not happy with it you can always return easily. Plus you will get it fast. There is also a US based reseller who have many popular models in stock in the USA. I would NOT buy directly from Russia at this time for many reasons.

straps: buy whatever you think you will like. It is a personal choice.

Never had any problems with buying Vostoks directly from Russia (more than 40 overall) but, of course, it takes a couple of weeks (at least to Germany, probably to the US as well). Just wanted to point out that there are (cheaper) alternatives to Amazon and eBay. So he now knows he has more choices than just between the two.
