I was extremely fortunate to lay my hands on this jewel. Not very much is known about this watch, except that it was made in very limited numbers in the 1980's. It features a 21 jewels automatic movement and an inner bezel that is controlled by the second crown. It's an Amphibia, so it's an all steel case. I can't understand why they stopped production so early. In my opinion, the design is stunningly beautiful. I consider this watch the peak in my watch collecting hobby.

Well done! With the bezel under the crystal, does this have a larger diameter crystal than other Amphibians? If so, does it look bigger on the wrist?

I too wonder why they aborted production of this. Maybe it was a matter of higher production costs for a feature deemed unnecessary? Or perhaps it was intended as a replacement for the Amphibian, but proved to be more costly to produce and was discontinued. Maybe we'll have the answer someday.
