A review of Invicta - an answer to the controversy

So I was really looking to buy a yellow gold chronograph with a white dial which won't break the bank and fits my 6-inch wrists. And, in the end, I bought an Invicta 7030 which I'm really happy with as a watch collector. Now after the purchase, I really started to understand that the brand is very controversial. Hence I have made a break down of the positives and negatives of the brand after extensive research.

Positives:
1. The brand has heritage. It was founded in 1837, Switzerland
2. Most of their watches are of good quality. Mine has a sapphire crystal, gold plated stainless steel case, solid links and a Seiko movement.
3. The Signature collection is made up of beautiful traditional watches of high quality for a good price

Negatives
1. Invicta has started shifting its range to oversized watches which are not traditional at all and quite frankly aesthetically displeasing
2. Invicta has an extreme markup on its watches. Listing a watch for RRP 595ÂŁ and then putting on a "sale" for 85%
3. Invicta's branding is often aggressive. The only downside to my 7030 is the huge Invicta engraved on the case side which is often however covered by the cuff
4. Invicta watches tend to take aesthetic cues from Rolexes. However one may notice original elements which make them distinctive

Conclusion
Invicta is a good watch brand. It's not Patek or FP. Journe. But the watches are of good quality. However, Invicta has tarnished nearly 200 years of heritage and a solid reputation by producing watches which are oversized and ridiculous whilst also listing the watches for an unrealistic RRP.

Well, an Invicta won't break one's bank typically. To mention in the same post as Rolex, Patek of FP Journe seems comical. Not sure "heritage" means much unless the company continues to produce offerings that maintain the company's historical quality. Longines has offerings in similar price range as Rolex but has been around longer and most would put Rolex above Longines in terms of quality, brand recognition and value maintenance. But at least Longines and Rolex are in same ballpark. Invicta and Patek don't even play the same sport. Top 10 Oldest Watch Brands in the World

I mentioned them next to Journe, who's my favourite watch maker, to convey and emphasise the message that the Invicta watch is of good quality but not a luxury item in any way or form

Yeah sorry I didn't notice it's a Ball forum. What I did say is that the Signature watches are beautiful pieces and of a good quality. They're also reasonably priced (proper price not the RRP). I said also that they're now
if you ever read this, can you send me a pic of the watch you posted thanks. you took it down i can't seems to find it back. I saw it a few hours ago

I am considering a Panda Pagani in the future. What one should ask is what is a homage? In my opinion as long as the watch is of good quality, not fake and not a replica it's not a problem even if it takes design cues from another watch. If you look closely at the Pagani and Invicta you will certainly find some differences. One should also consider that a Panda Daytona will set you off 30,000$ and the yellow gold with white dial even more than that. Those prices are outside the budget of most people let alone a 17 year old student who has just started getting into watches. Do I wish to sometime own a Journe and a Lange 1 Moonphase? Of course I do. But at the moment those are inaccessible to me. Hence I will enjoy my Ice Watch and Invicta, add an Orient in a matter of weeks and then purchase another Orient and a Seiko all of which are good watches suitable for my budget. In my opinion brands like Pagani and Invicta are must have brands to make certain aesthetics available to the common collector who hasn't got thousands. Another points is that I don't go off showing off my Invicta as a Rolex because of the similar look which the untrained eye may not be able to differ. I say proudly that my watch is an Invicta 7030, its good looking and of a good quality to anyone who asks. If you buy a similar watch to an expensive watch to pass it off as the actual luxury item that's a whole different argument and in my opinion you have to be an idiot to do so. Lastly, on the whole, I think that the hatred of Invicta is fruit first and foremost of elitism by those who can afford better and perhaps secondly a case of a bunch of people following the opinion of one person. The specs of an Invicta, I can only talk about the one I own, are very good given the price. Several influential YouTubers have said as such it seems as well.
