A sleazy British company is making a fake Rolex clock that threatens Rolexes revenues ($13,000,000,000 in 2021).

Offer to license at a nominal cost and specific use and shut the story down
so then it's really NOT
and if you "...know enough to know that rolex is well within their legal rights..." then you sure as hell know that it's NOT can it be overreach if they are within their legal rights? sounds more like I-hate-rolex-because-rolex then for any justifiable reason
you think all legal things are ethical?

The irony of all this is that kids that learn to tell time on a fun clock are probably more likely to buy watches later in life
no it's not
noun: irony
  1. the expression of one's meaning by using language that normally signifies the opposite, typically for humorous or emphatic effect.
"“Don't go overboard with the gratitude,” he rejoined with heavy irony"

a state of affairs or an event that seems deliberately contrary to what one expects and is often amusing as a result.

and it's definitely not this:
  • a literary technique, originally used in Greek tragedy, by which the full significance of a character's words or actions are clear to the audience or reader although unknown to the character.
noun: dramatic irony; plural noun: tragic irony
lol so you posted a definition to prove yourself wrong?
what you said was not the opposite...eeesh another one with reading comprehension difficulties

where is the opposite? the surprise? you simply said if a kid learns to tell time on a fun clock they may be more likely to buy watches later in life. That's not irony, it's at best an observation but really it's little more than a supposition

because you say it's irony doesn't make it so. really, this is so sad
Another post from you trying to insult others intelligence. Insecure? Because you don’t understand the premise doesn’t make it any less ironic,
you do not understand what the word irony means, admit it, you're backed into a corner and now you're lashing out. and please, enough with the victim routine. you used the word incorrectly, just admit it, be an adult (assuming you are in fact one or nearly so)
You are struggling so hard. My comment isn’t ironic (and yet you are trying to dissect it based off your research). My comment was observing the irony in the story. Talk about reading comprehension issues.
I said you misused the word irony. That hasn't changed despite your petulance.
Re-read your comment I quoted, either you misused the word or you need to become a more clear writer.
What exactly did you think “of all this” refers to? My sentence was clear. Perhaps you should leave comments that go over your head alone.

Anyway, you’ve won. I won’t reply to you further. Enjoy.
