So Rolex was right. Give an inch and ...Looks like these wonderful clocks are being modded now - pretty cool if you ask me, but using "Rolex rules" this would now be a fake Oyster & Pop...![]()

You're good Archer, and to think that I doubted your watchmaker's talents... the crown isn't perfectly centered though, but I am sure you'll get it right next time. Keep on the good workLooks like these wonderful clocks are being modded now - pretty cool if you ask me, but using "Rolex rules" this would now be a fake Oyster & Pop...![]()

Thanks, I'm trying to work my way up to Rolex standards...but I need a bit more misalignment in my work to get there though...You're good Archer, and to think that I doubted your watchmaker's talents... the crown isn't perfectly centered though, but I am sure you'll get it right next time. Hmmm... I think you should replace your eye glasses Archer... or is it simply butthurt for not being able to get parts for Rolex that is blurring your vision? Whatever it is, you should take it easy, there are plenty of watches you can repair, you don't need Rolex, they don't deserve you anyway 😉
My eyeglasses are just fine mate. I'm sure the Rolex coloured glasses don't allow you to see the problem with those watches.Hmmm... could someone market a lawn mower called Coca Cola? or is that name trademarked as well?Interestingly, Rolex claims and seems to be one of the very few companies to have an absolute copyright on the trademark “Rolex” across all industries including ones that it does not even do business in. They have successfully sued a healthcare company and a small mom and pop sandwich shop in New York. This is almost unprecedented, but they were able to convince a judge that while no one might mistake a sandwich named “the Submariner” for a watch, these companies profited from some implied association with Rolex and also damaged Rolex’s luxury image!
They make about a million watches per year. What is your source of Rolex revenue given they’re a privately held company?
I get what you are saying, but the crux is your average of $15k per watch. Remember that Rolex doesn't get the retail price of the watch. They get the price the AD paid for the watch, which has to be a significant discount to the retail price. They make about a million watches per year.
About 15k average
15 000 000 000 per year bc they sell every watch
Figure out what tudor is doing and that's what the Hans wilsdorf foundation is raking in. Plenty of change left over to sponsor high end events like sail grand prix
Rolex isn't in the watchmaking business, as its own chairman explained years ago.
How many car brands …… Benz and Porsche makes Rolex look like pikers
When Rolex sent Oyster&Pop (I have one on the way now as a birthday gift for a youngster, seems like a cool bedroom wall accessory) a letter, it was actually sent to the owners by Rolex lawyers, saying "consumers will inevitably be misled into thinking that your products emanate from Rolex”.
I find it interesting. Rolex thinks all its customers are morons in a hurry. What's it like, being thought of as that stupid by the brand you lionise?
I can’t think of a better example of two more different companies…could someone market a lawn mower called Coca Cola? or is that name trademarked as well?
