If you are referring to Rolex, it’s the dumbest thing I have heard. To come on a sub forum for Rolex and keep bashing it all the time shows me a lack of dignity from the negative poster. Do it on public forum or cafe, that’s fine. What I said is I don’t see Rolex “fanboys”, as some call them, go on other fora and spread their version of gospel. You know why? No need to. What else are we going to blame Rolex for? World hunger? Wars? Diseases?

no it's not
i·ro·ny1
/ˈīrənē/
noun
noun: irony
  1. the expression of one's meaning by using language that normally signifies the opposite, typically for humorous or emphatic effect.
"“Don't go overboard with the gratitude,” he rejoined with heavy irony"
    h
    Similar:
    sarcasm
Opposite:
sincerity

a state of affairs or an event that seems deliberately contrary to what one expects and is often amusing as a result.

and it's definitely not this:
  • a literary technique, originally used in Greek tragedy, by which the full significance of a character's words or actions are clear to the audience or reader although unknown to the character.
noun: dramatic irony; plural noun: tragic irony

lol so you posted a definition to prove yourself wrong?
what you said was not the opposite...eeesh another one with reading comprehension difficulties
The irony of all this is that kids that learn to tell time on a fun clock are probably more likely to buy watches later in life
where is the opposite? the surprise? you simply said if a kid learns to tell time on a fun clock they may be more likely to buy watches later in life. That's not irony, it's at best an observation but really it's little more than a supposition

because you say it's irony doesn't make it so. really, this is so sad

Another post from you trying to insult others intelligence. Insecure? Because you don’t understand the premise doesn’t make it any less ironic,
you do not understand what the word irony means, admit it, you're backed into a corner and now you're lashing out. and please, enough with the victim routine. you used the word incorrectly, just admit it, be an adult (assuming you are in fact one or nearly so)

You are struggling so hard. My comment isn’t ironic (and yet you are trying to dissect it based off your research). My comment was observing the irony in the story. Talk about reading comprehension issues.
I said you misused the word irony. That hasn't changed despite your petulance.
Re-read your comment I quoted, either you misused the word or you need to become a more clear writer.

Interestingly, Rolex claims and seems to be one of the very few companies to have an absolute copyright on the trademark “Rolex” across all industries including ones that it does not even do business in. They have successfully sued a healthcare company and a small mom and pop sandwich shop in New York. This is almost unprecedented, but they were able to convince a judge that while no one might mistake a sandwich named “the Submariner” for a watch, these companies profited from some implied association with Rolex and also damaged Rolex’s luxury image!
could someone market a lawn mower called Coca Cola? or is that name trademarked as well?
