Before Christmas I nearly died from an undiagnosed und too long untreated bacterial infection. (Was extremely painful but it seems that I have an extremely high threshold not to see a doctor, so I really ****ed up and went to work literally on the threshold to the other world…)

When I packed my suitcase for hospital I took a look at my watches and had to choose a watch that might well be my final watch.

What is the final watch you would put on?
Which of my rotation would you have picked?

Sorry to hear that, and glad / hope you are well. Something inexpensive like my $50 GShock. With all the moving around, testing, etc., I think there is a higher probability of it getting lost. I wouldn't want to spend time worrying about my watch in that situation, if it was say a Rolex, etc. Nor would I want to risk losing something that could in a worst case add some notable funds to my estate that could be used by family.

I wore my $15 Casio Royale the last time I had to go under general anesthesia. It’d suck to have an expensive watch stolen while you’re unconscious.

oh, and very happy you’re on the mend!
