Good morning guys,

So I just wanted to get some input about the 1861 caliber (Moonwatch). Curious to see if any of you have timed the deviations. I know it's not COSC certified so the ranges won't be as precise as -4/+6 seconds per 24 hours. Any feedback is appreciated because mine is running a tad fast, but wanted to see some numbers.

Also, if anyone has any recommendations how to position the watch at night or whenever I'm not wearing it so it can lose a few seconds per day, that'd be great.

Thanks a lot and hope you all have a great beginning to your week.

Mine will run about -1 from a full wind for the first 24 hours. If I let it go unwound for another day and wind it that evening it will gain back the time lost.

essesntially it's running -1 to spot on and I wind it every morning around the same time. I haven't found much change in regards to position but I know that every watch will be slightly different. I played around with position and winding at different intervals to control the timing, but at -1 I'm happy!

I love the thing to bits

Mine is about 2 weeks old and running between +6 and +10 depending on wind, wear, and position.

When not worn a lot and left crown up overnight, mine runs +20. If I wear it and wind it regularly and leave it on it's back through the night it runs +5 to +10.
You'll need to experiment with leaving yours in different positions.

I'd like to update how my Speedy is performing. For the past few days I've been leaving it crown down overnight, and that has improved my accuracy to about -1 second/day. I'm very happy with this!!! Just goes to show that you need to check a number of positions to find the one that's best for you own Speedy.

My month-old Speedy is at a pretty constant +4s/day. I haven't checked it with any fancy apps, just by comparing it every morning at eight to an atomic clock on the net. I wear the watch pretty much constantly even when I sleep, only taking it off when I'm at work (for hygiene reasons in a department store).

My 1976 Moonwatch with 861 movement gains +1.5 to +2.0 seconds a day, as measured over a 4 day period with it being wound once daily.

I rotate my Speedy Pro and AT8500 and wear each for a day at a time. When I don't wear the Speedy, it rests crown down and hovers between -0.5 and +0.5. When I am wearing it, it gains about 3 or 4 seconds per day. If I forget to wind it one day (I do try to wind it daily) it will gain 8 - 10 seconds above its "normal."
