An Air King thread! Happy days

i have just pulled the trigger on an Air King 5500 from 1969 - I have a thing about pieces from that year. Same as my birth year.

Here it is - pic from Chrono24 - I love the classic styling and how uncluttered the face is. Can’t wait for it to arrive.

Ordered the 126900 at an AD after I saw it online and six months later... I just love the fussiness and just how un-Rolex this Rolex is!

I also tried the watch on and ordered it. I think it looks great, I really like the thinner case and the crown guards, congrats! How big is your wrist?

7½ inches, didn't need to take any links off and just wearing with the 5mm easylink tucked in and the bracelet is fixed at the middle dimple on the clasp.

I have since asked the AD to move it to the innermost dimple to shorten it by 2mm as it slipped a bit further down than I liked when my wrist was raised vertically. It now fits with just enough give to fall away from my hand when it is perpendicular to my forearm so the crown doesn't dig into the back of my hand! Of course, it'll probably change in the summertime but at Ieast I'll have that 5mm on the easylink to play with.

Hopefully, you won't have to wait too long for yours👍

Mine 6.75 but it must be broader than yours, when I had it on the lug span didn't go over. At any rate, it looks great on you, enjoy!

Thanks, my ulna to radius width is only about 6cm so my 🤜wrist is a bit thick (or fat)😂

That bracelet is very good so you're not going to have any problems with sizing and fit when it arrives👌
