Hi Guys
I am a big Omega fan and used to wearing big Omegas - Ploprof, PO chrono, Seamaster 300diver. However I am rather taken by the 39.5mm PO - I have big wrists but is didn't seem too small when I tried it and I liked it: compact, stubby, but cool.

I read that it is actually a 40.5mm case and 38mm bezel and Omega decided on speccing it as somewhere in between those two: 39.5

would value your thoughts and any photos and comparisons with others of similar size like Sub etc

I’ve just bought the summer blue PO which is the 39.5 size. Haven’t measured it to see if it’s actually larger but a lot of brands seem to do this for some reason. I don’t have particularly large wrists but I do like larger watches. The 43.5 POs just feel too heavy and thick for my liking. Been considering a PO for years but couldnt get past the heft of them. The smaller case makes the world of difference. Despite being a “smaller” dive watch, the thick bracelet and thick case makes it look slightly larger and the proportions are just right.

I’ve had one for about 14 months now. It easily gets 75% of my wear time (and I also have a 300SMP, an Aqua Terra, and a DeVille). It is not too thick, but it definitely has wrist presence. Very comfortable bracelet. I have a
7 1/8 in wrist, and I think it’s the perfect size. Comfortable and great looking. Probably my favorite watch.

They are definitely shiny. When coming out of the sea they light up like a mirrorball. It makes them great for more dressy occasions but my old eyes struggle with glare and shine in bright light. The summer blue dial has a more matte finish. I’ve lost count of the times I’ve tried the PO on, it must be literally 20 times, all colours and sizes. When they released the summer blue it was like omega had created my wishlist. Ironically I was waiting for a call on the summer blue heritage version but I couldn’t take to it for some reason. The PO was not on my radar after seeing the online pics but my AD is great in the sense that he will often pull another 5 watches out of the cabinets whilst I’m trying on the watch I was asking for. Photos do not do the summer blue range justice. They’re all pretty amazing but the PO version is perfect

Gorgeous watch right there. I'm waiting for my PO 39.5 to be delivered by DHL in the next couple of hours...

39,5 mm is almost the perfect fit for me.
Omega’s CK859, not a diver is at 39 mm maybe the best fitting Omega out there for my wrist.

It comes not that narrow, but when i go for a watch, i want a perfect fit.
As the PO measure 39,5 mm, than i have a new candidate to put on my list.
CK859 39 mm
PO 39,5 mm
IWC Spitfire 39 mm

At 42 mm, it is big, but i think this is for a dive watch an ideal size.

You can never tell with Omega/Swatch........

It is still very popular and why fix something not broken?

No idea if or when they will roll out a newer version.
That's my guess as well. It's an almost universally lauded model with awesome specs throughout and a class-leading movement to boot. I don't understand what Omega needs to change? It could be several years still before we see a 4th generation. It doesn't feel outdated in the slightest. Some people dream of a thinner PO, but I very much doubt that will ever happen. It's not in PO's DNA to be anorexic. PO a maxed-out, top-notch tool watch, not a thin dress watch.

I think releasing a no-date model into the current lineup would be a big hit. Maybe introduce a matte ceramic bezels?! Other than that I think the 39.5mm PO is perfect.

I should love the 39.5mm but I've tried it on several times and the proportions look off to me. Too thick compared to the case size.

I own a Tudor BB58 at 39mm and a Rolex Sub 16610 at 40mm and both are really nice proportionally. In a perfect world I would sell them both and get a PO as I prefer Omega. But I just can't get on with the 39.5mm PO. And the SMP's and the larger PO's are too large.
