I glanced over my watch drawer and looked at 3 watches...

One purchased 8 years ago, one 2 years ago and the last purchased 2 days ago.

I feel like I am just buying the same watch over and over! all same size, colors, everything!

I realized I obviously have a certain style that I find attractive.

Do y'all think these watches are too similar to where it doesn't make sense I keep all 3?

Are your watch collections also just stuck on repeat?

If you like all three of them, makes sense to keep them.

I bought some watches that look pretty different, but I definitely gravitate towards blue dial, plain bezel, stick type hour markers, and metal, oyster/diver style bracelet.

You love Dive Watches.

Nothing wrong with that.

Many of us love Dive Watches.

You cannot have too much of what you love!

Keep all three!

Yes, I love dive watches... Apparently I love 45-46mm dive watches with black face, orange accent and pretty plain face.

Yes... I love the Planet Ocean and Aquis the most... they are 8 and 2 years old. I just got the Edox yesterday and have not grown to love it yet...

I feel like that Edox is a perfect mix halfway between the other two

In my opinion, yes you are. Even if sticking to a diver theme, they are much too similar really. Coming from my perspective, I like there to be very distinct designs as I have different watches for specific occasions so my overall outlook is very different to say, someone who just buys what catches their eye. But in a small collection like that, I would definitely go for something different either in terms of colour or design even if sticking to a diver theme.

My collection is a little bigger than that. Not by much but I do have a couple of others...

But I totally agree that threse three are very similar.

A basic guiding principle in my collection is absolutely no redundancy, and from that perspective, yes, your three are repetitive and redundant--I appreciate diversity, so of my five watches, one dial is white, one blue, one copper and two black--I go for case diversity as well--one rose gold, one brass, one bronze and two steel. Two on bracelets, three on straps, two with tritium lume, three with Superluminova. For me, perhaps with my phonology/phonetics background, complementary distribution is essential.

I try to give all my watches a chance to grow on me. My feelings about each one fluctuate over time. Recently, I wore Citizen Calibre 8700 on a bus trip, and the watch glinted so nicely in sunlight and in the light on the bus! Made me love the watch like never before. Lighting is so important in bringing out the beauty in my watches. Lighting at home generally sucks, I need to wear my watches out more! :)

I can relate. I started with the PO2500C XL 13 years ago and my latest is the SD43 from last year. With a Perrelet Seacraft somewhere in the middle. Feels like I've gone full circle. I'm even waiting for a rubber strap to dress down the SD43, same as I did with PO. 13 years, 13 watches, back to square 1.

Nope, I never fight "redundancy", rather relish the sameness actually, especially in different dial colors . .

I just ordered orange rubber strap to put on the Edox. PO stays stainless, Aquis is Titanium (I also have orange and black rubber OEM's for it), Edox will have the orange rubber... now they're different enough :)

I feel like I'm in the same boat as you are with dive watches, purchased a Hamilton chronic a few days ago to change things up and now I'm back to looking at getting a planet ocean...
