A new post just asked about Anonimo availabilty in Singapore...which made me realise that I should update WUS members to the fact that for the first time recently Anonimo watches have been available in Bangkok. It occured to me that there are WUS members in Thailand that might not yet have seen Anonimo 'in the flesh' and therefore might like to visit.

I believe the Anonimo range is being represented by large watch retailer/wholeseller (not 100% on the entire set up so will not name) and they are being shown at Siam Paragon only, as far as I know. A few weeks ago a section of counter space was taken within the watch department of the Paragon Department Store itself (a freestanding counter between the Tag Heuer Shop and the Oris section near the store entrance ground level). They have a limited supply of models and they are shockingly expensive. The same company is also repping Glycine next counter for the first time in Thailand (again, small selection and stupidly exensive)

I am sure Anonimo are represented in terms of models and price points much better in Singapore...but it is nice to see some on the ground here!

This is really good to know because I'm seriously 'Jonesing' for an Anonimo right now and I'm planning on being in Bangkok for Chinese New Years!

Glad to have posted the news.

Firenze and Oiramsq....

They first showed the watches at a Central Department Store "Watch Fair" a month ago, where only the Glycine were shown. Talking with the staff I happened to mention Anonimo at one point and they whipped a small caseful out from under the counter! The prices were jacked up ridiculously and even with a 40% discount it came to just under regular USA retail prices. Therefore I did not bite!

Standard practice for Bangkok AD's and Department store outlets is to offer a 20% to 25% discount...they then underline that another 7% Vat can be claimed back on exiting the country. That offers an approximate discount of around 30%...but again it's from stratospheric prices. I have no idea whether the Siam Paragon guys would offer a similar discount to the earlier watch fair...

FYI, Anonimo has been in Thailand for at least 2 years, if not more. The brand was represented by a company that provided Fortis watches. I believe last year that company had a falling out with Anonimo and it is now being supplied by another company, probably the Glycine mentioned in the OP. But back when it was with the Fortis dealer, there were watches at Siam Paragon and Central Chidlom. It seems Chidlom no longer has any on display. And for the record, the previous distributor was HORRIBLE when it came to watch servicing. I had to take my Anonimo chronograph back to them 8 times over the span of 2 months due to them not being able to fix a chrono issue. I hope this new distributor is much better in the service department.

Btw, the prices are ludicrous. I would not be giving them my business any time soon due to the ridiculous premiums and horrible service. Good luck with ordering any accessories. Straps were also ridiculously priced and they were unwilling to order me a steel bracelet.

2wheelsmoker ...interesting, I'd never seen them in either location...but if they weren't being represented, or displayed well, (if next to Fortis that would be a counter I have never looked at?) I might have walked past.

Prior to this point I had only come across the odd used model in MBK.

As regards service, no matter that you related your own experience I think I've been further put off by hearing Timefleas experience in Japan and I can't imagine whatever the new distribution deal struck here, that back up quality service is also in place already. Funny you mentioned bracelets as I just had questions concerning two different watches/brands (long established AD representation here) and availabilty of bracelets to have the stereotypical reply of 'no stock in Bangkok' and the frustratingly glib no idea what-so-ever of a time line concerning order to delivery. So I did not order for either

Then the price issue finally seals the idea of a BKK purchase perhaps not the smartest move....

Okay...the threads gone a little whack here. Bangkok is two countries and 1800 kilometers away from Singapore. However, as I am there about once a month if I have the opportunity to vist Red Army watches....
