I would really love a new mechanical Seiko Chrono.

Not that I know, but i would rather spend the money on a swiss if it's around $2000.

But what are you looking for in a new chronograph movement from Seiko?
What must it have that the current line up doesn't?
Or do you mean a new model watch?

There is no chronograph automatic/mechanical movement available in their current lineup.

Of course there is. There are a number of 8R48 chronographs in the Brightz line-up - but they are not available in all markets.

What he said /\, plenty of Chronos in the Brightz lineup.

This one came out last year and was a stunner, too bad it was a limited edition

Yea Seiko should really get on a cheap/robust/massproduced automatic chrono. would kill it. I get the movements are complicated but the prices for automatic chronographs are way too high. Sub $1000 would be amazing. I mean I can buy a 70s automatic chrono made by Seiko or Citizen for $100-400 no problem that still works...

A statement like that, on a chronograph of all watch types, isn't going to help you win a popularity contest around F21 I'm afraid.

The Swiss watch industry isn't necessarily recognized for the variety of their chronograph movements.....

Bloated prices and muscle marketing and PR , that's another story. Some might remember TAG's much-touted "manufacture" chronograph movement that was in fact a copy-paste Seiko-designed calibre?

And mind you, many of us collect Swiss as well, with prices solidly north of 2,000, so it's not necessarily Seiko bias that makes me write this.... I'm just trying to state facts.
