Doesn't read to me like you have a Tudor problem, just that you have strong preferences for case construction.
You may be on to something. It’s not just the unsculpted sides, it’s the unsculpted sides in conjunction with the thickness. Which is basically another way to say that I have an aversion to that style of case. My BLNR is similar but so thin it’s a feature instead of a bug for me.

Another thing that is easily remedied is the placement of the holes for the springbars! If they were just a little higher and closer to the case, the watches would look better on NATOs and other non fitted bands. Don’t get me wrong, there is a lot to like, especially on the movement side of things. Maybe a Pelagos 39 would work for me?

I tried for two years to bond with my Tudor Ranger circa 2014. Regrettably, while I loved the clean and easy to read dial, the chunky non curved lugs never fit my wrist comfortably. I parted with it. My intension was to replace it with the newer, slightly smaller version, but trying the new Ranger on for size just proved that it still wasn’t the right fit for my wrist.

Love my BB red, 1st gen in house chronometer. Personally I like the snowflake and really dislike Mercedes handset. Looking really hard at the all black, stark master chronometer new BB. To each his own. No apologies for preferences.

Tudor makes the Pelagos - a genuinely compelling watch - and then a lot of quite dull stuff. It's a bit like Omega (PloProf) or Sinn (EZM); one banger and then the rest of the line-up is pretty plain fare. IWC or Carl F. Bucherer manage to do understated without getting boring. Then there's Muhle Glashutte or Breitling that inject a lot of excitement into their designs. I'd struggle to bond with Tudor too - it's just not that interesting on the whole.

My BB58 was practically perfect in every way (Mary Poppins) but still went in the big sell off.

So ultimately I suppose I didn’t really bond with it that well, as my Subby Date stayed.

I really like my North Flag (bought back in 2016, probably will never sell), but I have no intention to buy any watch from the BB range, and really would like to see some fresh/original design from Tudor in the near future.

I seriously considered the silver BB58. However, I don’t want to deal with tarnished silver.

Don't worry about that too much, it doesn't tarnish that much or very quickly either. :)

Pro tip: for my Bronze and Silver watches, I lightly coat them with WD-40 if I'm putting them away for any significant period of time.

I have bought and owned a number of tudor watches and they just don't seem to stick. I can't really tell what the problem is but I think it is related to slab sided cases. I thought it was about thickness but having just gotten a 43.5MM PO, that I am really honeymooning over, I think it is more about case shape and how it fits on my wrist. The slab sided + thick and domed crystal has been a barrier to me bonding I believe. I have tried a black pelagos, a blue pelagos, a 43mm bronze BB, a Reverse Panda BB chrono and none of them stuck. I haven't tried a 58 or 54 or even the new slimmer BB 41s like the monochrome but I am not interested in them enough to buy. I think I have finally determined that Tudor just isn't for me with their current offering. Has anyone else had similar experience with Tudor? where you really want to own one that will have some staying power but they just don't? Any other brands you have similar experience with?

Nice watches but not for me...snowflake hands, some are too tall and slabs...i have several 14,15,17m thick watches but they do a better job of disgusting the height so that you can't tell how tell they are...as their bracelet attaches to the mid case not at the bottom of the case as Tudor does it. Some dials are just not that interesting enough.

+1
I can stand Tudor watches -- i am not a fan of those snowflake hands

I have bought a lot of Tudors, always seduced by shiny new releases and the collection/honeymoon period but most I have moved on within 12 months. Notable exceptions being the original FXD and Pink Chrono.

I like the brand though, its amazing progress they have made since the relaunch.

One thing I find strange though is why do all these Tudor haters spend their time on the Tudor discussion boards?????
