I was looking at this 38mm version of the Jazzmaster Performer. It looks like a sleeper model in the Hamilton collection. Stealthily beautiful.

My wrists are 7.25" and I like modest sized pieces so I'm not overly concerned about the size of the watch. But I was wondering if the leather strap would be long enough for my arm?

The strap on the Murph 38 is allegedly really short, so hopefully this one is more universally sized?

I have that exact watch. I love it.

The strap is a bit on the short side, my wrist is around 6 7/8 - 7" depending on how warm it is. I have it on the middle holes, for me it's just the right size. With a 7.25" wrist it'll likely be at the last hole or two but it should fit.

Straps are cheap so it would be easy to find a comparable (if not nicer) strap with the 20mm lugs on the watch. The strap isn't the best but it's better than the garbage straps that came with some other Hamiltons I purchased in the last few years.

Thanks, that's what I need to know!

I can't believe this watch never caught my attention before, it really looks the business.

My calipers say the strap is 112mm for the long side, 75mm for the short side (doesn't include the buckle of course). So it is on the short side. I wear it on the 4th hole from the tip (ie, the 5th hole if you count from the springbar side).

I measured the strap+watch flat from the end of the strap (buckle side, not including buckle) to the hole I use, it's 7 1/8", I wear watch straps on the loose side. To the last hole it's a shade over 8", so, you should be able to get away with the OE strap on your 7 1/2" wrist.

It's not a bad strap but not pliable at first, it's stiff out of the box. I own nicer straps but this one sure beat the absolute garbage Swatch supplies with this watch:

I had to replace it since it caused physical pain in my wrist after wearing it for a day, it's that bad.

$99 watches from AliExpress were superior to that supposed "calf leather" strap. Too many 4 figure watches from Swiss brands are supplied with absolute crap leather straps unfortunately. In the case of this Jazzmaster Performer though, it's not too bad.

Great! Yeah, that should be just about long enough. That's ~1cm shorter than most straps I own. Nice. Thanks!

I like the design of that racing strap, it seems to pair nicely with the watch. If I don't need to replace a factory strap I'm happy to just wear it.

I was leery of the racing strap design initially but it does go well with this watch. The blue leather they picked pairs well with the sunburst blue dial, the hue is close to identical.

I don't know how long the strap will last though. I noticed a few cracks on the blue leather coating between the perforation holes already, it has to be due to curving to fit my wrist. I've had the watch since early June. Like I said, it's a better strap than most Swatch Group straps I've had but it ain't high quality.

I love the watch. Bigger concern for me is the retention bands on the strap: I always have trouble with the anchored down band right by the buckle. Slowly but surely it just falls apart.
