  1. Thanks to a BOGO offer from Aragon and a BSHT enabler @Cobaltace1 I have now my first Aragon.

The watch has a very nice NH36 movement that so far is keeping very accurate time. Looks the part and it has a very quality construction and feel. Very legible and bright all lumed dial.

Bracelet is solid SS links and has good finishing; however, I did not have my tools handy and did not want to wait for proper sizing, so it is now on a Deep Blue NATO which fits it nicely.

The + Points
  • Beautiful and very legible dial with a Monster type hand set.
  • Case construction is very well made.
  • Protected screw down signed crown
  • Very legible printed bezel
The - Points
  • Plain and sterile movement. I'd would like a nice SS stamped case back instead of a see through case back to see pretty boring rotor
  • Spring bar lug holes are so shallow that I had the hardest time in placing the spring bars correctly. Had to come up with a very awkward method of reinstalling the spring bars. Holes need about another 1mm for the spring bar to install easier
  • While the Lumed dial is beautiful when charged ... it lasts very little. Doubts about superluminova being used.
  • The unidirectional 120 click bezel requires a lot of force as it has a lot of resistance; i cannot easily turn the bezel with one hand while the watch is being worn. o_O
It seems that Aragon is in the business of competing with Invicta; this watch could trigger that WIS happy bone with a few tweaks that are missed. The watch looks the part but it is not funcitonal (lume / bezel) and to have a watch for looks, Timex does it so much better. The watch is massive and has a lot of presence, but it is very tall; so would be very hard to wear under a casual shirt. This watch would probably sell like pancakes with a 40 or even a 42mm case, but at 45 and 17 high... not for the common wrist.

The alternative for looks. Price difference about $40 both from actual MSRP and also from current bogo offer and 3rd party sellers

Mad Dragon came) could somebody tell me what does "automatic movement" mean - should I wind it every day or is it a self-winding? And why basel is rotating? It is really difficult to understand this watch terminology so i need explanation. thank you

If you are wearing it.. it should wind by itself thus the term 'automatic'. however, if it has stopped, it is ok to wind it to get it going. Power reserve should last about 40 hours.

Regarding the bezel.. hope if helps. In summary, it is to measure elapse time; just like a digital chronometer.

PS. This one has a 12 hour timing bezel. which you can also use as a regular timing bezel, but also as a GMT without the need of a GMT hand.

I am tracking my birthplace time GDL with the bezel and my home time with the regular hands.

Thank you for answering my question, in Aragon they don't feel like answering it i don't know why.. Not very polite but it is ok if the watches are good) Could you tell what is in Engliesh the watch you have to wind manually every day? How is it said in watch description? Thank you. For a moment i am happy with my new watch.

97% of my collection are Quartz... so no winding at all. Just grab and go. However, for the few Automatic watches that I have... I know they will be stopped when I want to wear them.. so first I set up the time and the day to the day 'prior' .. then wind the crown for about 20 turns.... and then advance the time / date to the correct day date.

you don't have to wind it much as long as you are wearing the watch and have a semi active day. if you wind it very few turns and do not move much it may stop.

These watches are called "manual" or "hand-winding" watches. They do not have a rotor.

"Automatic" watches have a rotor to wind the spring automatically.

I've read "mechanical" also and "manual" and "hand winding". In Russian we onle have one name - "mechanical". That's why is my doubts.

To be a bit more clear about Wolfsatz's advice on the date, do not set it between 9 pm and 3 am. It can cause damage to your watch (unless it is a Rolex).
