Think the versatility of the speedmaster looking fantastic on any strap is what makes it such a great watch. Bought it on a bracelet, went onto Nato, then strap and at the moment back on the bracelet......for now.

See your taste in pens matches your taste in watches. Bought a rapid pro pen many years ago when I sold off my fisher ag7. It's been through the ringer so I've had to modify it several times to keep it working. Mostly stopped carrying click pens in favor of twist and bolt action to avoid the accidental activation though.

Good spot! I have the pen and the 2mm mechanical pencil and really like them.

I work in construction and mix between site and office so need something that can take a beating but not so expensive that its a problem if it breaks or needs to be replaced.

Just mt opinion - the speedmaster is perfectly fine on a bracelet, but it's wildly exceptional on a strap. So it's hard to justify anything but a strap.

I've had a 3570.50 for a couple years now, wore it on the bracelet a few times, and it was all fine and good. But it wasn't until I switched out the bracelet for a leather strap that the watch finally clicked for me. The watch honestly looks and feels so much better, a world of difference. I'm beating myself up for not making the change earlier.

And thinking about the NASA missions and the moonwatch on a strap, it made me wonder if Speedmasters are just simply a better watch being off its bracelet
Imho the general consensus to fully enjoy a speedy is to buy a fullset hesalite with bracelet, immediately remove the bracelet, and enjoy with different leather and nato straps.
Unlike modern rolexes, modern omega does not make good looking bracelet. Also, On my po, I had issue with omega bracelet clasp many times and found it annoying esp. When the extension popped out on its own.

My used Speedmaster came on a leather strap, so has nearly always lived on one.

I did buy an Alpha Speedmaster style bracelet for it and it looked good, but I switched back to leather, because I just like leather straps and I think the Speedmaster works well on one.

Currently, it's on a Di-Model Rallye strap.

I like mine both ways myself, to me the bracelet is definitely more comfortable and the clasp is very well executed, but the strap is way more elegant and compliments the watch better.
My Triple Date came with a cheap strap, but I was able to source an NOS original alligator double ribbed curved lug strap, NOS deployant buckle with the gold Omega plaque logo (literally impossible to find) and the NOS bracelet with the hidden clasp like this watch would have originally come with.
I only wear the leather strap in the cold months to keep from ruining it with sweat.

I think the problem is the chunky bracelet on the 3570.50. I have one too and could never get along with it. Links are too long and thick, endlinks extend the lug-to-lug, and it's limiting with only two microadjust holes.

Since playing around with aftermarket bracelets from Uncle Seiko and/or Forstner, it's been a revelation. I almost never want to wear my Speedy on straps anymore. I just picked up the Uncle Seiko 1479 (similar to the current 3861 bracelet) and it's my favourite one so far.

I bought the same bracelet, it looks good. But the clasp has hotspots and it's a bit uncomfortable. Also the quality is very low. I don't recommend it.

I know everyone calls Speedmasters strap monsters but bracelet only for me, black straps look OK, I have never liked the combination of black and brown on anything.

Before the 3861 Speedy came out, I always went for different straps on my 1861 Speedy and left the OEM bracelet in the drawer. I continued to do so with my 3861 Speedy at first, but I've found myself keep switching back to the new OEM bracelet, it is such an improvement.

Nowadays I usually put my 3861 Speedy on its OEM bracelet while the 1861 Speedy wears a Forstner 1450 President. Both are solid bracelets that excel in both comfort and style departments.

I have a Speedmaster 1863 in addition to a couple of other watches and, while I do think some of them look better on a strap, I just can’t get straps to work for me.

Maybe it’s the size/shape of my wrist (~8” and more flat than round) but when I wear my Speedy on the Artem sailcloth strap or even wear my Sinn 856 on one of the several straps I’ve bought for it, the watch case gets pulled to the outside of my wrist. Drives me nuts to have to keep pulling the case back to middle with my right hand so I’ve just given up on straps unfortunately.
