Still enjoying my Explorer and like the Milgauss and since they shrunk the new Explorers if something happens to mine it will be replaced with a Milgauss unless they decide to shrink that one to. Not all of us with wrist larger than 7.5 are comfortable with 36mm watches sold my Datejust for that reason.

For me, Rolex is like a past relationship I look fondly back on, but really don't want to get into again. I don't think one can understate how important Rolex is as a brand, however. I don't know how you can be into this hobby and not have a lot of love for Rolex, frankly.
Wow you said exactly what I wanted to say.
I have a love hate relationship with Rolex….. I’ve been in with Rolex before the waitlists, back then they would even give you a discount on any model(minute the ss Daytona). I still own Rolex watches but choose to enjoy other brands and not let the perception of resale value cloud my decisions.

Repulsed or captivated? That is sort of like Love or Hate. My father always told me that when it comes to women, to opposite of love is not hate, it's apathy. I would say that is where I am at with Rolex. Of the four I have, all were easily procured, and the whole scarcity of frankly some REALLY ugly watches (palm leaf Datejust anyone?) is laughable to me. I am just glad my business is recession proof, and things are about to get lean for all the people that lived fat during the pandemic era of cheap and easy money. The secondary market will go south, flooded with Rolexes folks couldn't afford to begin with. Anyone using the word (insert luxury good here) and investment should have their head examined.

They are robust, well made and serviceable. I buy what I like and have many brands, rolex among them. I am neither captivated nor repulsed.

Meh...

They are very good watches. I wouldn't mind owning one. Not worth the cost or hassle of acquiring, though.

Lots of other great brands out there.

I like their watches a lot. I have owned 2 of them, but none currently. If and when I find the cost of one to be of value to me again, I will probably purchase one. As for now, I am pursuing other brands.

Are we talking about the repulsive personalities of a fraction of a percent of owners?
I have the inclination to think that a lot of the more repugnant “rolex owner” threads are not actually rolex owners, but pretenders who think owning one is license to act superior. Probably because they want nothing more than to feel better.
