I can’t decide between the seiko “Arnie” and an orange monster. On the one hand I love the quartz reliability and readability of an anidigi but I also like having an automatic movement. I love the shroud and more toned down version of a tool watch on the Arnie but the loudness of the monster is appealing too... help me decide guys!!! I have small wrists but idrc Bc it’s a tool watch it’s supposed to be for readability not looks...

The two are so different, that's a tough decision. I'd say both, but I'm guessing that's not an option. Also matter which Arnie, I think, and which generation Monster. So many choices...

If I was buying one right now, I'd go Arnie.

Seems to be overwhelming Arnie’s here. I’m leaning towards the safarnie. I love the idea of a shroud... but the monster is very iconic. I guess itll have to wait for another day. Wrist size 6.25 inches btw

I love the monster but was wrapped up in my new turtle back when you could grab a gen 2 monster for cheap, and I wasn’t really on board with owning more than one current watch at the time, and neither was the missus. God, how I wish I could go back! Current pricing on the Gen 2 monsters are no go for me and the latest iterations seem lacking of that charm.
Anyway, hobbies are good when approached with reason, like killing alien predators with rocks and sticks and saving your family from a bat sh*t crazy extremist. Get the Arnie!

Your subject line made me think this was gonna be a (very) late review of PREDATOR.

This is a tough one!

I own both, a Gen.1 Orange Monster and an Arnie reissue (not the colorway you're looking at, though). In my collection, acquiring a Turtle benched the Monster, and the combination of a Sumo (with the ratcheting clasp from the MM300) and an Arnie is probably going to send the Turtle to the bench to join it.

As much as I love the Monster, even absent my Sumo and Turtle I think I'd still pick the Arnie. The Schwarzenegger connection is a big part of it (I grew up on, and still adore, '80s action flicks), but the Arnie is also light, comfortable, and every bit as capable as the Monster. I also enjoy the perpetual calendar, solar, and the option to display the day/date or world time. It suits my day-to-day life better, and therefore will get worn more.

I sold my orange 1st gen last year and boy do I miss it! Don't pass up the opportunity to get one if you can! I love my Arnie but would give it up for a decent condition orange monster in a second (dm me if anyone is interested [emoji6])
