Hello everyone,

I would like to ask for your opinion on this watch. I have done some reading and learned that Rolex have those laser markings on the crystal. Does that apply to vintage too? This watch is said to be from 1965-1970.

The owner said the bracelet is not original anymore and dial has been refinished. I'd appreciate if you can tell me what you can from these photos.

Sincerely,

Jeanie

This a Rolex Oyster Speedking circa 1960. In original condition, it may fetch $1500. Unfortunately the refinished dial renders it worth far less than if it was in original condition. I'd leave it alone.
As for the crystal etching, I think that this was introduced in 2002.

Thank you for the inputs. It is being sold for $750. So basically, what you guys are saying is that refinished dials should be normally avoided?

Thanks again.

Yes, refinished is a no, no. Unless you really, really like it and will never part with it and it's a good price.

Just remember no Rolex ever looked like this, the dial is not just refinished it's been painted a colour Rolex never used.
