Hi all
just wondering about accuracy of your automatics
I have a new diver with the new antimagnetic Miyota 9051 movement - seems whatever position I have it 'off the wrist' it will speed up 4 seconds in 8 hours - but the rate of speed slows in wearing bringing overall gain to +7 a day
I am satisfied with this in an unadjusted movement

would be interested in hearing your experiences on Citizen/Miyota autos

I'd be happy with +7 spd, but that depends how you got there. I had an SW330-1 that averaged out at about +4 spd, but was all over the place, -11 to +17 IIRC. I sent it back and, after adjustment it's now between 0.0 and +4 spd everyday with normal wear averaging at about +2.6 spd. If you are getting around +7 spd each day, I'd be OK with that. But if it's varying widely, but just averaging at +7 spd over say a week, I'd be more concerned. Also, not a doctor, I know squat about watches, this is simply what I'd be happy with.

My Sinn runs at +2 sec/day, but it slows to -7 sec/day at the end of its power reserve off the wrist

...my Seiko Alpinist does the exact opposite. -2 sec/day, but goes to +10sec/day off the wrist

The only solution is to wear them both a lot. I am OK with this 👌

Come on, this thread needs pictures;)

I only have two autos left. Both Signature 9x movements. One runs +4spd and the other is -17spd.

I love my NB1031-53L +4spd

I am trying to love my -17spd NB0070-57E (it's just not bad enough to send it in)

Love that Signature Grand Touring - still kicking myself for not buying one a few years I saw on sale - definitely a good'un that got away
You're right - pictures it is

I've had a Traska Venturer for a few months, which has a Miyota 9019 movement. When new, it was +7spd, which was fine. But I've been wearing it constantly for the past few weeks, and it seems to have settled into about +2spd, which is amazing. Remains to be seen whether that continues, but it's increasing the likelihood that I'll buy a Citizen automatic, like this one I tried on the other day (which does not look nearly as huge as it appears in the pic):

I have one of those new divers as well. Mine seems to be running around +4/day or a little less. Maybe a bit slower on wrist, bit faster kept dial up overnight. I'm super happy with it.

Hey there, I have the same two Signature watches as you:) So I recently purchased this same Grand Classic (9010 movt) for around $580. While I do like the watch it's running consistently +9sec per day during the first 3 days. Which a little disapointing due to the fact that these are super accurate watches. Do you think this is enough reason to return it? Obviously it's my decision however my Grand Touring Sport (9012 movt) is running +3.5 sec per day. I know know the Grand Classic was manufactured in 2016 and more likely been sitting in the warehouse for several years and maybe needs some "settling in" period. Just wanted to get your thoughts.

Cutting back on the poor performance in particular positions is what regulation is all about...but also figure...+4 seconds in 8 hours is still +12 seconds a day. That's still pretty decent, and I think in spec. The 9xxx's are a good compromise, in my book...decently accurate for a very accessible price. Slimmer than a 2824/SW200, too.

My next Citizen won't be a 9051, tho; I'd rather step up to the 0950. But I don't like the 870's (and they're larger than I like) and the 830's have been VERY hard to find. OR...if I feel silly-ish, the 0200. At that level tho, I have to talk myself into it big time...and there's lots of competition.

Immediately after receiving my Citizen NB6021-68L I checked it for 108 hours where it ran at +0,89 s/d, which I found immensely satisfying. I’ve noticed that the watch was speeding up and last week I checked it for 132 hours and it ran at +2,56 s/d, which is still good. Below are photos of the Vejle skyline (😄) with and without the watch.

Face-up on the phone timegraphamajiggy my 821A (Laco Aachen) runs -6, my 9015 (Melbourne Chelsea) runs +10 and my Citizen Leopard that packs a 7220 (I think) runs -4. Those match up with experience pretty well.

Actually not all that surprising the nearly 50 year old Leopard is most accurate since it was regulated just a month or so ago and the others haven't been since they left the manufacturer.

The Miyota movement in my Helberg is at +4 spd on wrist. Happy with this Watch. Vance.
