Bad Timing

Today is my wife's birthday and UPS shows up at our door with a package. Unfortunately it isn't a gift for my wife, rather it's a watch for me! Although I'm excited it really was poor timing. :-s I'm at work right now so I haven't opened the box and taken photos yet. It is a G8000 that I will dye black. I'll post photos after I complete the dye job.

I'm not sure how the dye will take to that finish and in my opinion it's a rather nice colour and a black one can be had for low price. let us know!
I think it's a matte finish, so it will probably be OK.

what'd the little woman have to say, did she think it(the package) was for her?
Now you know what comes to mind after reading this?
For all you old enough to remember......
"Lucy,.....you got some splaining to do"!!!!:-d:-d
That is some serious bad timing though, hope
it works out allright.
Regards Sonny
Oh yes, I do agree with our friends here. First things first.

Did you arrive today with something for her? Flowers bouquet? Smile on your face? Present in hand?

Remember what Sun Tzu said in The Art of War: "Always feed the female tiger. An unfed female tiger could mean not wrists where to wear your watches".

(He didn't said that, but he should have). :-d
Ooh, that is bad timing.
Better get her something to make up for it. Like a G-shock, a fancy pen, a GPS unit, or a knife/gadget. Always goes down well. :-d
Ok, I've survived the evening. I did not come home empty handed so she received a gift as well. Before I left this morning I told her that a watch might be showing up today. Fortunately flowers were delivered to our door as well. In the future I need to put more thought into the timing of my watch orders though.

I attempted to remove the bezel to dye it but this thing was not meant to come off. I'm willing to take moderate risks, but I was not willing to try and force the bezel off. It is built entirely different than any bezel I've removed before. So the watch will stay the factory green, which is close to black anyway. Tribe was right, the strap is extremely long. I trimmed it and it turned out great, I just have to buff the edge but will wait until tomorrow to do that. This is a very different looking watch, but I like it. :)
I keep mine in green too. :-!

Actually, when I bought it (department store), I thought it was black. But that dark green has grown on me. :-d
You are right, at first glance it does appear black. When I saw it online I thought it was black and had to ask WUS members whether it was black or green. My wife still thinks it looks black.
hmmmm....definately one of my next target!;-)
@ Xfactor,

I hope you like yours better than I like mine. functionwise the G-8000 has a great module, its probably one of casios best. I too once like that subdued olive green at pictures very much, but never could warm up with it in the flesh. I also think it doesn't fit me well, I'm just not into rectangle watch designs I suppose...

but the one point that really is annoying for me is the lack of the fifth light button. especially with this model I find it a pain in the a** to activate the el-backlight, the buttons are not accessible easy anyway even if you can see them, but at night it gets much worse. so mine ended in a drawer (not even sure where)

like I said, I hope you like yours better and have a lot of fun with it, enjoy :)

regards, holger

p.s. congratulation to your better half :)

Yes that's true, now I think back to when I had one. A flaw.

It's due the shroud on the button... Lack of fifth light button is indeed annoying...:-(

I have the G-8000F.

Cheers,

Glad you survived :-!.
I thought it woudn't be wise to open it immediately when I got home because the day was supposed to be about her birthday, not my new watch. That 10 minute delay felt like an eternity. ;-)
good to know you're able to be alive to post. glad ure okay !!!!!
a gift for urself on her birthday always make a woman go

Ok, since it is not b-day night I have a little more undivided time with this new G-Shock so I am going to try my 2nd attempt at removing this bezel, in hopes that I can dye it black. |>
