I am thinking of getting a Certina DS divers watch with green dial- read that the battery can't be replaced easily - to keep water proof must be replaced by Certina - anyone have any experience with this

The battery on my watch (see the review here on WUS f9) has been replaced in 2 years by a "standard" watch seller with no particular issues. The waterproof is guaranteed if you do a pressure test that cost something like 20€ and I don't see why Certina must be necessarily involved. The pressure test is a very standard procedure so if you need to be absolutely sure that the watch is waterproof this is all you need ;)
