I recently became interested in watches and purchased my first "real" watch this week. As my wife and I were walking through the mall today, she decided to "pop in" to David Yurman and left with a new set of earrings with a price tag remarkably similar to that of the watch I just bought. So I now understand that I need to multiply to price tag of any watch I buy in the future by 2 to figure out what it truly is going to cost me. :)

On a more watch-related note: David Yurman had a few nice-looking, very expensive watches on display. I've read through a lot of this forum of late and have seen no discussion of them. Are they quality watches?

For the same price range there are better branded watches and resale will kill you. Welcome to the forum, hang here enough and your wife's ear rings will be pocket change! LOL.

Windy got me the same way last year. I was in a favorite AD buying a nice ML.... and diamond earrings were on sale too! Imagine that, a fortuitous sale at the very same time! Bet THAT doesn't happen too often!!! (rrrriiiiiigggghhhhtttt) So how could I say no? A couple months later I went to check out a pair of vintage watches when an estate sale contact called me. Now, this is MY BIRTHDAY and I'm buying my own present. Well, lo & behold there's a vintage diamond pendant that matches her earring perfectly! [sarcasm] Oh, the gods must have meant it to be! [/sarcasm] Well, on MY BIRTHDAY not only do I buy my own gift (a Longines that turns out to be from the same year I was born - kinda cool ;-)) but I end up spending more than TWICE as much on Windy.

Windy no longer comes with me on watch buying excursions.
