hey all,

i do have my share of breitlings , but need to get my wife out
of " omega constellation syndrome" , if you know what i mean
( no offences , but why do 90% of women wear the constellation?)

anyway so what would you vote for ,
1.starliner
2.cockpit lady
3.colt oceane

( personally i like the colt ocean a lot , but the AD put a spanner in the works saying the model might be replaced next year)

So lets have your opinion.

thanks in advance,
vineet

Hi, Verner. Well, the Colt Oceane is a bit larger and more legible but no two tone or gold available if she likes that. Dial choice is also somewhat limited in contrast to the other two watches. The Starliner is the replacement for the Callistino and it is a fairly small diameter watch. It also has the integral bracelet which takes away any strap options she might like. The Cockpit Lady is an excellent piece IMHO and my wife certainly shares that viewpoint. Here are a few pics of her CL and you can see for yourself why it wins our vote... ;-)

Ron

Hi Ron.

Your pictures are really stunning, you're a master in that art ! :-!
But... may I ask for an addendum ?
Could you provide us a wrist shot of that lovely Cockpit Lady ? (with the ring should be great...) :thanks

Cheers,
Brice

Agreed with Ron, the Cockpit Lady gets my vote too. It's more refined than the Colt, and you can change straps (unlike the Starliner) to coordinate with her clothes. Yes, I noticed sometimes they just like to do that... :)

Out of those 3 I also agree with Don and Ron, the Cockpit Lady is the way to go. I would also keep the Callistino in mind. They don't make her anymore but they are pretty easy to find on the second hand market. We recently got my mom a two tone Callistino with a MOP face. She absolutely loves it and wears it everyday....

I always thought the Lady J w/ blue or black dial was the nicest breitling for women , too bad they stopped production !

I like the Colt Oceane and will be getting one soon. My AD has said that the Oceane will be around for some time and doesn't think it will be replaced next year. How does your AD know or why does he think this model will be replaced next year?? I like this watch over the starliner and cock pit because they are smaller and with busier dials and harder to read.

don't succumb to them. Join the Starliner crowd.

I bought my wife a Starliner (pink MOP with diamond dial), because she thought it was more feminine and didn't look like a miniaturized version of a man's watch.

Thanks all,

The debate has finally ended.

The starliner lost out early coz' its too similar in proportion to TT constellation , which the wife has.

Between the cockpit and Colt , The colt won 'coz "its sportier"
in her words.

This is the beginning of another round of musings...

diamonds or not? ( is that even a debate?)
black face or blue ( not white , she has a white face omega)

it goes on...................

cheers and thanks a lot.

And since Mrs. Eagle has a valentine background for her Colt Oceane, my Mom's Callistino should probably stop by for a visit... ;-)
Cheers,
Ron

PS. Mom will be 85 on her next birthday and she thinks her "B" is the nicest and best watch "in the whole world!!!" . She may be right...

Can you post a few pics when you get it. A nice wrist shot would be nice too. Yes, I agree with your wife ...the colt is far more sportier ...
and it's larger than the others. 33mm is a good size ...almost mid-size. I wonder how much larger it looks compared to the cock pit lady??

hey modester ,

However a 6 week wait is expected, the dial color is not decided.

but the wife is partial to blue from the chronolog.

I will only get the watch in 2008.

Look forward to seeing the shots. Personally I like the white dial as it makes the dial look even bigger. Is she getting the SS bracelet or leather band?

Hey mordster,

happy new year.

Well its like this,

the wife could not bear a 6 week wait , and we were going to Sydney to visit my brother , so we decided to try there.

We saw a CO blue dial , it was gorgeous , but reserved for someone.
The dealer promised us a CO blue dial while we were there , so we paid up.
( I got the duty refundable invoice)

The watch got delayed. However we could not get a refund as the AD had issued an invoice against my passport.Thank god my brother is in Sydney.

Anyway the situation now, is this, - My brother is in posession of my wife's Blue dial CO on ProII , And there are no trips planned either way for atleast 4 months.

To add insult to injury , my local AD called after we got back to tell me he got the watch .

As ned kelley said ...... such is life.

Anyway without a doubt get the watch, it looks stunning.
