Hey folks,

Looking for a moonphase and seeking suggestions. Dress watch style, or casual, under $5k. Preferably automatic with preference to accuracy, but also open to quartz.

Thoughts? I love Edox and there's some very affordable quartz moonphases from them floating around GM, also like Constant, Longines, etc...but haven't found "the one" yet.

Does anyone have experience with Armand Nicolet? They have one I like a lot on appearance but have never owned or had anything in hand from them before.

Many thanks!

WOW!!! I LOVE that---I think that might just be the one, particularly as roman numerals and open hearts are two of my other favorite features. Thanks so much. This right here is one of the things I love about watch collecting: when a relatively affordable piece is the one that does it:)

And, if this review is accurate, that's a pretty impressive in-house movement particularly for the price, with -5 / +15...much better than I would have expected. OK, this may have just won me over for Orient, whom I've always respected but never yet owned.

I think Ball makes the best moon-phase watches in the under $5K range. Here is the Ball Train-master moon-phase. With tritium illumination it really shines in the dark.

A pre-owned Arnold & Son may be an option. The JLC is beautiful too and a preowned may be available around that price point
