Hi all,

I have recently bought a Seiko Bellmatic from peopeg/diagnostic64

https://www.watchuseek.com/showthread.php?t=336981
http://www.network54.com/Forum/170229/message/1260502982/FS-+Seiko+Bell-Matic+Sweet+Brown+Dial

As you can see this bellmatic is a ‘franken-bell’, the case was 6011 and the dial, hands and movement is from 603x.
But I still pulled the trigger since it looks nice and furthermore, it was in working condition and rather cheap price for a Bellmatic.
I thought perhaps I could give this one to my dad.

So I dropped the seller a mail on the 11Dec, and sent money on the same day.

I received the watch on the 24 Dec, yes on the eve of Christmas!
I was excited… of course the first thing you do is the check the watch.
First, gave a little shake and the second moved. Seems fine…
Second, tried to wind the alarm… no sound of winding at all… seems to be loose…
well perhaps I should tried to adjust the time first before testing the alarm.

When I tried to pull out the crown to adjust the date the first click was okay, the alarm bezel was fine too.
Here’s the horror - It did not move when I tried to pull to the second click, so I gave it a harder pull and the crown came off!

I brought it to a local watchmaker and was told that the stem was 'superguled' to the crown
and seems like it was broken previously and there is no way to fix it unless I get a new crown!
That explains why there was no winding to the alarm!

I couldn’t believe I bought a faulty watch - when the description stated that it was in good working condition!

I emailed the seller on the same day 24Dec and gave him some time since it was Christmas.
I sent 2 additional mails on the 26Dec and 30Dec and I don’t believe no one will actually not look into his inbox for such long time
since he do have other sales thread in the forum. I have even sent PM to seller, and still no response till date.

Well, I’m not complaining as I treat this as a lesson learned for being impulsive, greedy and not doing my homework. o|
but I do hope buyers pay some attention before buying and perhaps stay away from this seller.

this picture will always remind me...

thank you for reading... i feel better now.

okay i was wrong all along. i still couldn't believe i had to dig this post out.

seller is down right dishonest.
seller did reply my mail in the last attempt and i was asked to ship back the watch.
watch was shipped back on Jan 5 and was told that there will be a full refund.

waited till Jan 18, seller said nothing was receive but tracking on the web shows that it has been landed in US.

Jan 21, seller again replied nothing was received.
gave up as all hope was lost and thought it was really lost in the mail.

after 2 months, did some surfing on ebay... and found a bell matic which look exactly the same!
click on the link and realized... the description was the reason why i sent it back to him!!!

i was shocked to see seller actually list it back on ebay when he claimed twice he had not receive the watch!
he kept quiet just because i did not pursue the matter... !

it really feels terrible to see seller like him on watchuseek.

i seriously hope all buyers think twice and beware of this seller.

just saw the link to the ebay auction. Its the same watch, exact scratches on both watches that you have returned and what he is selling now.

if so this is considered a fraud and something should be done immediately.
Contact the mod about it and hope seller can reply on this thread.

Also you can notify ebay that the watch is a stolen item/doesnt belong to seller.
