In the never ending battle for female hearts and minds, Blancpain has ensured that women no longer have to choose between the aesthetic and technical values of a watch.
Since 1930, the Manufacture has been a pioneer in the history of watches for women developing the first ladies self-winding wristwatch. Blancpain has innovated ever since by developing a steady stream of elegant timepieces. For all that, they may have overlooked the need to create an English title for the watch, and perhaps the nearest translation is Blancpain Off Centre Small Seconds Retrograde.
Tis latest creation from Blancpain features 152 diamonds. Its 36.8mm-diameter red gold case is alone has 108 diamonds totalling one carat. The gem-setting, composed of two interwoven rows of diamonds in various sizes, echoes the emblematic double-stepped case design of the brand. The diamond on the crown adds the final touch.
The white mother-of-pearl dial has facetted diamonds with off-centred hours and minutes. The subdial at 12 o’clock has 4 Arabic numerals and drop-shaped cut-out hands, while the Blancpain signature at 6 o’clock highlights the retrograde 30-second indication.
The watch is powered by Blancpain’s new 226-part mechanical self-winding movement Calibre 2663SR, beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour. The sapphire crystal case-back allows a glimpse of the Côtes de Genève finish as well as the oscillating weight shaped like a five-petal flower.
The watch comes in a white gold variation with a blue mother-of-pearl dial or in steel with a white dial. Each of the gold versions comes on a white ostrich leather strap, while the steel model comes with an alligator leather strap.
