Just saw the new Bond movie. Was wondering about two things.
What is an O "Me" Ga ?
and what was he wearing towards the end of he movie ( with the SS band) BTW , the PO was beautiful and he dialog about what he was wearing is priceless, even pronounced the way he did. I wonder how much
Omega had to pay up for the exposure.
Like Mcdonalds says , I'm loveing it.

Maybe cause I'm a WIS I was focusing on his watches, but they really seemed to nearly "co-star", that and Sony stuff.
I'd guess Omega paid dearly, especially for the Rolex jab.
Excellent flick btw.

You say potato...

Just saw the new Bond movie. Was wondering about two things.
What is an O "Me" Ga ?
Isn't that a bewildered expression used by teenage girls from Southern California?
"Oh...me...gah, Becky." "Did you see that skirt Ashley was wearing?"
"Uh..yah." "It, like, made her butt look sooo big."

Actually, it's funny; in this written media, we don't hear how others are pronouncing things, but I'm sure there are plenty of folks around here who prefer the O-me-ga pronounciation.

I haven't seen the flick, yet, but the general consensus has been that Bond is given a...well, Bond SMP when he becomes 007. As Eagle notes, it's a ref. 2220.80.

I'm looking forward to seeing and hearing!
I wonder how much Omega had to pay up for the exposure.
I don't recall seeing any figures on the amount they threw at Casino Royale, but considering they paid $47.1m for the 2012 Olympics, I'm guessing it wasn't cheap.

Uh, yah. Their fries are, like, totally the best.

The Rolex fan will say he'll be given a Rollie when he makes 008! (Or 006 depending how the scale goes?)

Sorry eric, couldn't resist...lol.

(Yes I know, he used to wear a Rolex)

:-D :-D I've been doing my best to avoid the Rolex/Omega Bond discussions. It's a different age than when they started and now commercialism and product placement reign supreme.

I'm not making this up, but I was watching the U.S. Office on NBC the other night, and they played a "commercial" spot for an upcoming commercial with Ellen DeGenerus. Mindboggling!

I thought I saw a silver outer dial on the SS band model he wore?
It didn't give a good view like the PO , but I could swear it had a silver outer dial, not blue.

Well, we know for certain that he wore the two noted above (PO and Bond SMP). If there's a third, I haven't heard about it, Ken.

...we counted at least two for sure in the athens, greece premiere, which must hv bn the bond blue SMP ref 2220.80.00 and the large PO on rubber ref 2900.50.91, but don't think anybody can say for certain if the bond blue SMP ref 2226.80.00 is also featured...

I have to commend them for not being TOO obvious in selling watches (though I wouldn't have minded).
They certainly missed several opportunities for watch shots when Bond is playing their friendly little card game!

Hmm...a 007 with "007" on his watch might be a little odd.

I guess I can't say for certain, but I'd think it would be as likely as him wearing cufflinks that said "Spy." ;-)

Just to kick in and tell something different (maybe should tell this on the Breitling forum, not here).

I saw the Bopnd movie Thunderbolth (origional for Never say never again, last one a remake in 1983, unofficiall, had to compete with Octopussy).

In thunderbolt Bond (Jean Connery) gets a watch which houses a Geigerteller from Q.

In a close up of this watch when he dives underneath the ship of the Spectre, the dial says Breitling Geneve and has a chronograpgh (which probalby would count for the Geigerteller).

So just to get a different Rolex / Omega saga. Bond also used a Seiko digital in some movies.., but you allready do know this right..

I'm sure some of us did, but it's still interesting to bring up. There was a good blog entry posted a couple of weeks ago here, showing the various Bond watches, including the LED Pulsar from Live and Let Die, several digital Sekios, and that Breitling Geneve, which lacks a crown and pushers.

I'm not the biggest Bond fan, but it's still cool to see the different pieces and gadgets throughout the years.

Hi Guys,
I see you guys were checking out what bond was wearing. But, did you guys check Le Chiffre out? I think he was wearing an Omega Deville. You guys should check the band. It is the same metal band for the Deville. This can be seen when they are playing poker. I guess the speculation in the internet that bond was going to wear a Deville was not far fetch. However the bad guy wore it.

The movie was FRIGGIN AWESOME!

Did anyone notice what the dealer in the poker game was wearing?

A Speedy with a red dial.....there were quite a few Omega watches in the film. Im pretty sure that the asian woman was wearing one as well.

Just saw the movie. Some quick thoughts:

1) Loved it, but thought it could have been two movies like Kill Bill v. 1 and 2. Or those old-time productions with an intermission.

2) Re: "O-meee-ga." Not much insight into this, but I had an English-born college professor for econometrics who pronounced beta as "bee-tah." I guess it's a British thing, then? Just like Godiva chocolates is pronounced differently in different countries, I'm told (go-DIE-va vs. go-DEE-va).

3) Props to the Bond girl homage, actress Tsai Chin.

4) Nice display of parkour, aka "free-running."

5) I'm still lost as to how shaking a martini makes any difference, given what happened... can someone explain?

I loved the movie, product placement and all (it has reawakend my craving for a PO) :)

I'm pretty sure that most of the watches on display were Omegas, Mathis looked like he was wearing one (well, the strap looked just like an Omega Alligator, didn't get a look at the watch itself).
