I like the watch. I don’t even mind the marker color. To me it is not “Fauxtina” it is simply orange colored markers. If it were simulating aged lume the bezel wouldn’t be orange also. I like it and don’t mind it. It’s different and it goes nicely with the “brownish” looking dial. That is my opinion.
My biggest problem with it is the price. I, like many here, feel it is way too expensive. It would be nice to have a bracelet also. In the end, I feel that it is a cool watch but it looses too many features that are cool while at the same time becoming way too expensive. Do this exercise. If I made you choose between this two watches and I told you they both cost the same, which one would you choose?
SMP 1: ceramic dial, ceramic bezel, enamel scale, sapphire case back, bracelet.
SMP 2: Aluminum dial, Aluminum bezel, lume paint scale, closed case back, no bracelet.
If both were the same price, I can pretty much guarantee that everybody would pick option 1. Am I wrong? What if I told you that SMP 1 was $1000 more expensive? Would you still choose option 1? I think most people here would still choose option 1. After all, it is what Omega and other brands have done to charge MORE for their watches for years now. Add ceramic bezel inserts and stuff like that to replace the metal inserts and consequently charge more for the watch. All of a sudden we have option two, which it is made in titanium sure but costs TWICE the price of option 1 while loosing all the other stuff. It actually boggles my mind a bit.
