Breitling Store in Factory Outlet Center Strip Mall?

I visited the Cabazon Factory Outlet Center in Cabazon California last week and two doors down from the Movado Outlet Store, I saw a Breitling Factory Outlet Store. I checked it out and they had a lot of Breitling Models. I was completely blown away! I never heard of a Breitling Store located in a Factory Outlet Center Strip Mall!

Has anyone seen this? Is the Breitling Cabazon Outlet affiliated directly with Breitling, or is this a private store selling gray market watches and while using the Breitling name?

Thoughts please?

What were the prices like? When I search on “Breitling Outlet” a number of different locations pop up, and they do show up in a the official Breitling store locator.

If there are good discounts to be had that would be awesome!

A lot of outlets sell factory seconds. That's perfectly okay if you're shopping for tube socks. Less so if the "slightly irregular" item is a watch.

Quite a few luxury brands have stores in outlet malls. Heck, there are such things as 'Premium Outlets' where the entire outlet mall is luxury shops.

Clothing is seasonal. Prada has to dump all their Chinese made crap that they cant sell. High-end watches are jewelry...they don't have to be dumped at the end of the season. It lowers value of the brand...grated this isn't Cartier or Rolex but it is still a premium brand.

2 reasons come to mind:
They dumped a lot of stock in the grey market when they were PE acquired.
They have a lot of outdated watches.
I didn't realize that they sold. I would be curious to see what exactly is on offer at a Breitling outlet. I still wear my SuperOcean from the early 2000s. It isn't out of date to me...but maybe if I had one of their Bentley watches I would feel differently.

I tried a few watches there a few weeks ago, that’s what got me to end up getting a Superocean but I got it grey market. The prices were a little less than retail. Cabazon is a “luxury outlet” for whatever that means.

There is a Breitling outlet here in S.Florida as well. They typically have discontinued models for sale along with some less common color combos of current models (read less desirable color ways).

They sometimes also carry discontinued LEs.

They do discount, unlike a Breitling boutique.

They do operate under some different rules, however. You can’t exchange something you purchased at a boutique at an outlet store.

Hope this helps.

I was at this outlet store about 6 months ago. They had a few older generation super oceans but none of the current generation. They had some nice models of other lines but mainly the sizes and versions of models that sell less. The prices were not that amazing maybe 20% off. I also went into the tag outlet. They had more of the most recent releases but at about 15-20% off.

I am not surprised.

Clothing companies understood many years ago that what were originally factory outlets (smaller agglomerator companies buying unsold / last year's / slight defect goods at a severe discount and putting a small markup on them to shift them in their own stores located in less desirable areas of cities) was becoming popular with consumers as they could get a luxury branded item for 1/3rd the "boutique" cost, so what if it had a slight blemish ?

So, at least in Europe, large groups of clothing / luxury goods companies opened their own "factory outlets". What they are, in reality, are just retail stores (some offer an actual "deal" on goods, others offer no discount in reality). In the minds of people, they still think they are getting a deal, because it is a "factory outlet". It seems even watch company such as Breitling has gotten in on this practice now as well.

Here are a few of these places in Europe:

I was at a Breitling outlet a few years ago at the Woodbury Common Premium Outlet.

It basically had all of the ugly watches that I wouldnt personally want lol.
Had a few nice womens models though.
Basically things that didnt sell well and were discontinued at that point.

It is really interesting that by using google and googling "Breitling Cabazon Outlet", it will bring up the page of the Breitling.com website that shows the Breitling Cabazon Outlet. Bottom line is that the google search engine can find it on the Breitling webpage.

Now it gets really strange...

If I go the Breitling.com in my web browser, and search for "stores" on the webpage, it does not find the Cabazon Outlet. Can anyone explain this? It is like it is hidden on the Breitling webpage.

Thoughts?
