Breitling Superocean 42(old style) or the Pelagos?

Hey guys. Just here for an opinion. I had my eyes set on a Tudor Pelagos 42. After years of periodically checking my ADs to try one on, I finally got the chance. I was going to pull the trigger, but I needed some time to think so I walked around the mall.

I went to go visit my friend who manages the Breitling boutique. I was quite surprised that they still had one Superocean 42 black in the old style. That thing fits like a glove. I may get a small discount, but probably not much. I know these are still quite attainable on the secondary market, but the black with the steel bracelet in 42mm is always the one that is never available.

Which one would you guys pick? Of course, I'd probably save about $1k with the Breitling. Sure, in house movements are great, but at the end of the day, the Tudor movement ain't the nothing to write home about either...

Which one would yall pick? Oh yeah, I can't afford both of them, lol. It's one or the other.

I absolutely love the look of that superocean. ive almost bought it countless times im just scared of the lug to lug. im not crazy about titanium watches and although Tudor makes a beautiful watch, I am little tired of looking at the pelagos and the BB58 for the time being. im a fan of what breitling is doing in general although I wish they hadn't changed the super ocean to the new design. the new navitimers and top times are gorgeous.

TL:DR - The Superocean!

I bought a Pagani Design Black Bay GMT homage. Had the DG3804 Pearl movement, before they started using the Seiko NH34.
It was more accurate than my Tudor GMT S&G that I paid 40 times more for. It was actually a fairly well-made watch. Spot on to the second for over two weeks, with a deviation of no more than + or -5 s at any time. How long they last is anyone's guess. I have another Pagani homage with the same movement, sometimes it's feeling accurate, sometimes it's off by 5 minutes.

Both are great Watches. If you had the chance to buy the First Gen. Tudor Pelagos, new, that would be my choice. But with your choices given Breitling SO is cheaper to buy, plus would have a harder time to find a new one in that model and color dial again. The Newer model Tudor Pelagos, is a miss with the lines of text on the dial for me anyway. Vance.

There are a few folk here who think that what once applied decades ago still applies today. Like waistlines (not).

Superocean for me too, although I'd actually take the previous gen model. In fact, I did! It's bombproof. ETA 2824-2, easy to service, great lume, 1,500m WR, robust dive extension. Smaller than the Pelagos, too, which may be technically the more advanced watch here... but I think Sinn does "chunky" better.
