I searched the forums, but never really found an answer. I purchased a used UN Maxi Marine, and the leather strap has seen better days. I am looking to replace it. The band has a beautiful UN butterfly clasp on it, which I want to keep.
1. I can't see how to remove the portion that goes where the buckle would normally go. What's the secret?
2. How do you size/ order a replacement leather strap? This strap is thicker and "notched" at the case and tapers thinner as it approaches the ends (in both width and thickness). Not a "normal" band at all. Are there bespoke watch strap makers who might have these available to make? Suggestions on where to look?
