Hey guys,

I’m in Chicago for a few days and I’d love to hear any recommendations to go check out vintage watches.

I’m staying downtown but would consider traveling a bit.

Thank you all!

Cheers!

Plenty of pawn shops. Can be slim pickings but I did score a 21j BW Raymond at one for $50. Passed on a bumper Omega for $200. Needed too much work.

We have been talking about doing a watch hunt there soon.

I have not.....I avoid AD and shops that specialize in watches. I tend to like the wilds such as coin shops and pawn shops. While the pickings can be slim...the deals can be greater. But I would probably go there if I just wanted to go in and blow a wad of cash on a vintage watch. I am cheap.

Try the Chicago Gold Gallery (pawn shop) at 1236 W Devon Ave on the North Side of the City. I got a couple of nice watches, including a 14K Hamilton I gave to my mother. Gold was less expensive then (think 15 years ago). I also bought loose gem stones from them too and jewelry making equipment from them.

Ask for Joe.
