Hi there,

I'm new to this forum and Oris watches.
I was wondering if anyone could date my pocket watch. The face has Roman numerals and states 'Oris Anti Shock Swiss Made'.
It appears to be that there used to be gold plating but most of it has worn off and also I think it is wind up as that was how I got it working again. It has fancy floral engraving on both sides

Does anyone have any knowledge about this type of watch or be able to date my watch?

Hi Emma,

If you can open the back of the watch and post a pic of the movement it will help with dating the watch.

Thank you for the reply, this is the back of the watch.

It says 'Oris Watch Co. Swiss' 'Seven 7 Jewels Unadjusted' and '701' if that is of any help?

It looks like a very pretty little watch, I like it, though maybe a little too feminine for me.
But anyway, the '701' identifies it as an Oris 701 movement, which would date it to around the 1960s.
