My 42mm Khaki arrived in the post today. I love the look of it but it will take me a while to get used to the sheer size of it - it's quite tick as well as big.

Anyway, along similar lines....

I put a new strap on it but I think the gap between the case and the strap looks too big. The strap's about 4.75mm thick at the lugs which I thought was going to be OK, but I think I'll need something thicker. How thick is the strap you've got on yours, Ken? Maybe I need something like one of these on it instead:

My strap is 4mm, but it is on the Khaki AVIATION and it fits perfectly. I put the Watchadoo on the Khaki FIELD and the gap is fine. Remember that it is not the thickness of the strap that matters, it is the amount of material at the lug end where the pin/tube connects to the lugs. In the case of the watchadoo, it has solid cast end links with enough material to "close the gap"!

I originally had strap and bracelet reversed but switched them around as the strap handles the larger case size and weight of the AVIATION case. I did not notice any appreciable difference in the gap...my strap is the PAN Style Pigskin from IWI. It is a great strap at a terrific price:

IWI has great prices and quality merchandise when it comes to straps, bracelets and deployants, but, their service is often fairly slow....I use them for some straps and most push-button butterfly deployants. I do not think I would risk a watch purchase from them.

Fair point - I must be slow on a Friday...!

It's hard to tell from the website which ones might work and which ones won't. I might check out a couple of stores in person and see what I can come up with. Maybe I should have a look at a couple of curved end ones, too.

Thanks again for your help. It's officially (almost) the weekend in the UK, so I'm off to the pub. Have a good one!

You know, in 2007, I wasn't even married yet. George Bush was president. A 13-year old Justin Bieber was just a YouTube singer. ... And Hillary Clinton was the "shoo-in" to be president.

I guess some things never change. :)
