Just curious if any of you have experience with this purveyor based in Rosewell, GA, USA. They seem to have a huge collection of fine watches.

Seems legit per their eBay page, Google reviews, and BBB. Their website is definitely 1990's

Now that I purchased my first Omega, I'm exhibiting zero self-control...

What a horrible web site! Honestly, if you’re selling $50-100K watches you should hire an IT guy or a web designer once every twenty years to update the site. And put up some decent pictures of the merchandise. I wouldn’t buy from these guys just because they seem lazy and cheap. But I dunno - maybe they’re great.

I hope you get some feed back on the purchase experience with Cape town diamond. There may be a reason they don't have an up to date more exciting website, and that may simply be that they don't generate enough business from internet sales, and maybe they would have to spend more money than they would get in return. I often wonder why owners of ADs don't have a you tube channel. After all, they have access to most of the watches, but the you tube channel isn't the way they generate most of their sales and people would only call about the latest hype watch and the AD is probably out of stock on that watch anyway. Sorry I couldn't add more.

They have some nice watches for decent prices and I've spoken to them a couple of times on the phone.

About a year ago, they had a Lange on their site and on Chrono24 that I was interested in. I called to inquire about pricing, shipping, etc., and was told that the watch had sold quite some time ago. I told them that it was still listed on their website and on Chrono24. They said they were aware of that.

The idea, I suppose, is to draw in potential clients with something they want, and then show them something else instead. (I don't know about you, but I believe that's called "bait and switch.")

A year later, the watch is still listed as "available" on their website and on Chrono24.

Edited to add: If you read through the "About Us" and "FAQ" sections of their site, you'll find a lot of antiquated attitudes ("If you are young man or a first time buyer of expensive jewelry"), patronizing condescension (their website is "is designed for the seasoned, sophisticated buyer"), persecution complex venting ("our policy of heavy discounting is in direct conflict with the manufacturer's dedication to 'retail price maintenance'. It is no wonder that the manufacturers' interest and loyalties lie with their thousand of sanctioned dealers rather than with the a handful of discounters.") and "GET OFF MY LAWN" ranting ("IF YOU DON'T KNOW JEWELRY, YOU'D BETTER KNOW YOUR JEWELER!!!"--the all caps and exclamation points are theirs). It's not a good look.

I've looked at that site before and the rhetoric on there is a bit outlandish and pompous.

Perhaps they are legit, but I think most of their watches on the site are not owned by the store - they are consigned or the owner has a source.

It's like a poor version of Jomashop - they have many watches that are "special order", which means that they don't really have it, but they think they can find it.

It's kind of funny to see a 20 year old watch that is no longer made being listed as "special order" ! ;)
