I will say it Bulola is my favorite thus far. I was in a watch store hopping if ma by he had an old box behind the counter. that has happened a couple of times. While I was waiting I came across some new Caravells and I just found some old one's on ebay and am wondering what if they are I good vintage to hunt for. Thanks

The Caravelle line was the budget end of Bulova's offerings, sort of like Pulsar and Alba are the lower market offerings of Seiko.

I owned a Caravelle diver in my teens and it served me well. It did seem similar to Seiko, so I'd with Vinylgreek. I like Seiko, so that's not a criticism. These days I do see a lot of Caravelle NOS gathering dust in the ol' timey jewelry shops I visit. I don't think they're especially rare, but if I found one I liked at a good price, I certainly wouldn't hesitate to buy it.

yes-but they made some pretty neat dive watches that arent that much different then their Bulova cousins. A few caravelle chronos arent even that cheap any longer. Divers seem to be the more interesting Caravelles imo.

Caravelles often had lower jewel counts in some of thier manual movements, the 7 jewel one was common, Bulova always seemed to use the higher count. There were 17 jewel Caravelles as well. Just something to look for.

I bought this Caravelle new in late 1966. It easily survived the monsoons and jungles of Vietnam, and
still keeps excellent time today...and the back has never been off the watch!

Nice watch Tom, I have the same with a M9 1969 date. I'm currently looking for the same style in an automatic with a date window at 3 o'clock position. It can be either a Bulova, Caravelle or Bulova by Caravelle name on the face.

Here is mine its from 1979 and it is one of my best running watches that I own, I have a twin that s in my private collection. They are great watches in terms of keeping time and just always working, but they are not going to bring much money at auction. I have tryed selling the watch pictured twice for $69.00 on ebay and no bites.

I have an automatic with that case you have with a brown non click dial but prefer the case of my non automatic shown above. If you had the case I'm looking for, I'd take it off your hands. It needs to have the black face and black dial with white numbers and date only at the 3 position and the crown at the 3 position. Their hard to find.

I have several Caravelles, and they are all ETA movts, 24xx and 28xx series, and are very well made watches. I paid less than $20 for each of them, and they are a very good bang for buck watch, IMHO.
