I've been seriously tempted by a fun Tressa Lux - how is the quality?

Thanks. I think it is the original because it matches so well, but no way to tell for certain. I saw this in the window of a little boutique in France during the summer and just had to have it.

I only have one watch with a non-round case. My Farer Durham...

While round, the claw/horn lugs do add something more interesting to the design...

I like a cushion case.

 

I am partial to cushion cases.

 

Mine is a subset of the tonneau (and also I guess a subset of cushion case) where the lugs straighten out rather than continue the arc of the case. Examples are the Patek 5940, Cartier Tortue (and arguably certain Drive de Cartiers), and my personal favorite the Girard Perregaux Richeville:

Unusual...

 

Cartier Crash , could not afford one but reminds me of Salvador Dali melting watches.

 

Agreed, I remember the first time I saw the watch since I was inspired by Dali, I think it was listed for 10k at the time lol now they are going for 200k.

 

Something I cooked up from AliX parts. This thing is flat, and I mean totally flat and looks like a tiny UFO hovering on your wrist. Just a fun thing to wear.

 

I'm a round case fan but this Longines case is very cool.

 

I love the tank (tonneau/barrel) case!

 

 

I very nearly got myself the Valkyr too, it was just the thickness that stopped me, but something really nice about that case. I really didn't like the Visitor when I first saw it, but have completely come round to that too. Great watches!

Zenith Defy Xtreme:

Crown guard puts this in the unusual category.

And my beloved IWC Porsche Design Titan automatic chronograph. Recessed pushers and crown, and integrated bracelet:

 

Always been a sucker for a slightly tonneau shaped case, but with a round dial. My favourite.

 

My G-P High Frequency. Though the pics don't show this, the case is narrower at bottom and flares outward toward the top, which is both cool looking and super comfortable.

 

1980s Concord, belonged to my dad.

 

 

Squale 1521 case. The beveled line that runs along the sides and wraps around the lugs really looks cool.

That DOXA is really cool.

 

Vintage watches can come in some pretty unusual cases.

But even among vintage watches, the Hamilton Kenmore is a bit more unusual than most...
