I bought a new AE1200WHD last year for £14 (no box just the booklet) and it's a lot of watch for that money.

I don't wear it but have it as a desk watch.

 

I actually did wear mine on the bracelet on a trans world trip once. Best gmt I’ve experienced for timekeeping. Now I have like 4 of them lol.

It’s honestly pretty good given the price of the watch. Definitely good enough to keep on there.

 

I have bought two Casio Royales.
The one in black resin bracelet was purchased back in 2020 when I was in hotel quarantine in China due to COVID. Bought for RMB160 (less than US$24) after reading about it in Watchuseek forums. Immediately impressed with its look and functions and had it on my wrist rather regularly when I go running or swimming. By now it should still have 5 years worth of battery life.

Then a year later I wanted to have another one in silver bracelet. Finally got this one in late 2021. It has the same functions as the black one and it fits me when I'm in some casual fashion. Not too many people in Hong Kong wears the Casio Royale and people get interested when seeing it on my wrist. This one cost me around US$35 and I still consider it a good bargain if you don't mind it being made in China.

Rain was in the forecast today, so I decided to take on modding the Casio Royale (AE-1200WH-5AVCF) I bought a couple weeks ago. This is the model with a gold-colored case and resin strap. I used Goo-Gone, Q-Tips, and a lot of patience. I removed the "World Time" and "Illuminator" wording...

It turns a good watch into a great watch.

 

Agree with JohnM67. SKXMOD kit elevates it into a premium watch. The kit is fairly pricey, but you get a hardened steel case and bracelet with a fit and finish that will easily surpass those on watches over $500. I also added an ogglogg colored filter.

Awesome, I got mine a couple years ago as a beater. Very cool watch for like $19 or something. Really been wanting to do the SKXMod, just haven’t gotten to it yet.

 

I just ordered one. I got the casio royale w/ the green world map.

I found a cheap stainless steel case and strap kit for the watch from china and placed a buying request for it. We'll see how it goes.

 

The fact that it's still running strong after all that swimming and running shows how solid it is, And 10 years of battery life? That's just ridiculous value.

 

Finally received the watch and changed its covering into stainless steel. 😊
