I just got off the phone with Casio USA parts department. It was a very interesting phone call. I had a list of parts that I was after. They had the more recent parts, but couldn't come up with the oddball parts, as expected.

The big one for me was a couple of replacement bezels for my DW-5700 screwback reissue. This watch was my grail for many years. Maybe the most practical basic G-Shock ever made, as far as I'm concerned. The gal tried very hard, but couldn't understand that a DW-5700 reissue had an entirely different bezel than the old DW-5700 from the 1980's. In the end, I settled for a couple of Rising White DW5725 bezels. They were $10.50 each. I'll just dye them black and repaint them. No biggie. :-!

Obviously, face protectors for the DW-5700 were a no go. :-(

I was smart enough to order some case back gaskets for the DW-5700, but stupid enough to forget to order some replacement case screws. o|

Then I ordered up some replacement parts for my Dawn Black Frogman. I don't feel like getting stung next year, and finding out that all replacement parts have been discontinued. Paying $50.00 to get a new bezel from Tik Tox is hard on the wallet. So I grabbed 2 extra bezels, 4 spring bars, and 2 case back gaskets. :-! The bezels were only $16.00 each directly from Casio.

Again, I forgot to order case screws for the Frogman. o|

One interesting thing that I learned concerns the button gaskets. Casio does not sell button gaskets. If you need new button gaskets for your G-Shock, you have to buy a whole new case. Very odd, but I guess they never expect people to pull apart a case to change all of the gaskets. I thought she meant that they sold them by the case at first (as in case of beer), but I was sadly wrong. She meant the physical watch case.

A bunch of the parts are back ordered, but Casio is great about shipping. The total shipping is $4.50, no matter how many separate shipments they have to make. I told her that she could wait until all of the parts have arrived from overseas before shipping, but she said they can't do that. The downside is that I may end up with 4 or 5 separate credit card charges. Not a big deal though.

The gal was very good about the whole thing. A few of the parts were a "Wow. That's the first time we've had to order one of those" kind of deals, but she did a great job overall. :-!:-!:-!

I have to say that I'm now a confirmed Casio USA Parts buyer. Once you know that a G-Shock is a keeper, it just makes so much sense to order some replacement parts for the future. The prices are far more reasonable than trying to get them through an Internet dealer years later.

I like the idea of stocking up on spares to pretty much last a lifetime for favourite G's. Do you think resin parts kept in polythene will still be good in say 10 - 15 years though? When I see photos of crumbling bezels, I imagine it to be a lot to do with what they've been exposed to, rather than just the natural life of the resin. I know this has been discussed before, but I don't remember the outcome. What do you think about this?

I think that if the bezel stays in a sealed bag, it should last indefinitely. There are replacement bezels floating around Ebay, still in sealed bags, that haven't been made in over ten years. They look absolutely like brand new, and I've heard no complaints about them.

It's good to know. Mind you, with my favourites being so cheap I can just buy the whole thing as a spare. :) If I ever do get a Frogman though, I'll get at least one spare strap and bezel for it.

i imagine if you keep it in the bag and keep it out of sunlight they should last for ages. i've already scuffed up my 6900 bezel and considering i only paid $8 for it (i had a $50 gift card to wal-mart), i am thinking about getting an extra bezel. i think they are $17, though. not bad at all but it sounds like they are a little more $$$ than some of the stuff Buzz ordered.

Just thinking out loud: Maybe we (the forum members) need to start a Casio parts number table and make it a sticky. There are so many separate threads that contain part numbers, what we need is for someone to start compiling a table and keep it updated here or better yet have it so that others can add to it. Thoughts?

I too have had a great time ordering from Casio parts. Sadly, they could come up with a couple of things that I wanted either but they were very nice and their prices were quite a bit less than I could find on the net.

Hey Smitty, I recently ordered a new bezel for my 6600 from Casio and it was $5.50 or $6.50. Call 'em!

dang. it's actually $17.10 like they show on the website. still not too bad, but if it was $6.50 i'd have snapped one up. for now i'll just wait until this one gets too banged up for me to stand it.

We're not referring to Casio Sales and Service, the authorized Casio distributor. We're referring to the Casio USA itself; the Casio parts center. Much cheaper to go directly to Casio, rather than going through a distributor.

I have it even worse, I'm after a 2001 DW-5700 reissue bezel, with the light button in the bottom right-hand corner. I believe that it is identical to the DW-5750 bezel. For some reason, it's even harder to find in the US than a an old DW-5700C bezel.

Sounds like a good idea. :-!

I'll create a new table in the G-Shock Wiki if we can collect enough part numbers to be useful. That way it will be easy for everyone to update, and there's a lot of formatting options.

Post them in this thread or PM me. I have a few numbers from my purchases, but it would be great to build up a comprehensive listing with notes on availability and other details.

the dw-5750 is not the same bezel cause use 1545 module and just like the bezel won't fit an orginal dw-5700 cause the buttons and screws to hold the bezel and same format that an dw-5600s bezel won't fit an 5600c or older models cause same problem as buttons and screws holding the bezel.
