What are your thought ?

To me I much prefer the older Ceramic date. But currently on the waitlist for the sub41 at my Ad ( turned it down March of this year because I was buying a home , but now if I get a call I’m game).

I’m not a fan of the wider bracelet……

What one do y’all prefer ?

And no I am not paying over retail the the older ceramic date

I never bought the original ceramic b/c of the lugs. My AD called me and offered up the new 41 and I bought.
I offered it to my son but turns out 20 year olds have no affinity to a Submariner. My MoonWatch, Milgauss and DJ41's well that is a completely different topic.

Its a wonderful watch but not for me...I have decided comfort trumps all else and that bracelet and clasp just don't do it for me.

I have a dj41 and a bbgmt.

I don’t know I just like the older ceramic more than the new one.

Can I be your son ?
I’m 32 now but always wanted a Rolex since I was in my early teens. Finally Achieved my goal of obtaining one by the age 30

I hung out with a friend last night and we compared my hulk to his 41mm sub, and to be honest...they look the exact same. I know the 41mm it's 0.5mm bigger, slimmer lugs, wider bracelet and all that, but seriously...unless you have them side by side in your hands, they look the exact same. We get so nitpicky on the forums with closeup shots and all that.

In this case, comfort would be the deciding factor...but even then I doubt you'd notice after wearing it 2-3 times.

Given that they're no longer sold at retail, I'm not sure how you're going to avoid paying over retail on the secondary/grey market.

At any rate, the new 41 references have quite a few upgrades that, unless you really like the supercase, not sure why you'd bother with the previous.

I’ve owned a few six digit subs and loved them. My preference is for the five digit though. Not any better or worse than any generation of the sub. Solid end links, lug holes, luminova dial, simply the best one for ME. Find the one YOU love., which is always the right answer.

I am in the group that thinks the Sub41 is Rolex at its finest. I love the subtle upgrades and changes, and I think collectively they make a huge difference. I moved my 114060 for a 124060 and I am very happy I did so. The lugs look so much better, and the narrower lug width helps the watch wear better on my wrist (I.e., it wears flatter and more comfortable).

Totally agree. This is Rolex best upgrade.

The 124060 seems somehow heavier to me. I could never get a good fit where it wouldn’t slide down the wrist and make that semi-burn mark on the back of my hand with the crown.

I prefer the 114060... However, at the end of the day - all submariners are beautiful.

I think so too. It wears so well on the wrist.

But my only nit pick is the 21mm lug width. I am planning to buy as soon as my AD gives me the call. But, I think long term about my watches, and I suppose I’m concerned about what I’d do in 20-30 years once the bracelet stretches out or if I ever want to wear it on a nato strap, the right size is basically nonexistent.

I have had 5 and six digit Rolex divers, and as much as I love my Hulk, I must say that this new upgraded model is my favorite diver as far as proportions go. It feels great and looks Perfect. Rolex really nailed it IMO.
Hate to say it, but the 12 series plain ND sub it’s getting to be one of my favorites.

I could just never love the lugs on the last generation Sub. It's a chunky monkey. I own the 41 ND Sub and absolutely love it. Rolex just got so many little things right with this latest generation. I've got 15 nice Swiss watches and the 41mm Sub rules the wrist - at least until my BLNR comes.

I feel like the newer 41mm Subs/bracelets are very similar to the Tudor Black Bays - thick. I prefer the 40mm Subs and a BB58 in terms of size and bracelets thickness. I do like a Black Bay on a Horus Rubber strap as a cool beach and summer watch but not on those bracelets.

You are stressing over nothing. The two are SO similar. Just SO, SO, SO similar. You're wasting your own time thinking about this. They are pretty much the same exact damn thing. People get them confused with each other in photos and in person.

Take the new one. It'll have no name on the card, more warranty and it'll be yours yours.
