Yeah, I'm a little salty over this, to be honest. The original email for those of us who registered interest read "Only when your watch delivery time is confirmed will these new colors go on general sale." But as of today, the only thing we've heard is "probably some time between June and December" with nothing beyond that. Kinda wish we'd have gotten some kind of additional information before they began pushing general sales.
its definitely a little fishy as the first release was sold as limited but really it was just a limited color run. Same for the green but the cat was out of the bag by then.

I’m a huge CW fan so I don’t mind them using the watch’s popularity to capitalize on profit, however be honest with the base of customers who made them to start with!

I didn’t buy one. It looks awesome but for the money I’d rather have something else. Eventually these will be saturating the used market some as the nuance wears off. I think :)

I mean.........isn't that what most limited releases are? SBGK015 is just a limited color run, not a unique watch. If you just want a black dial, you can walk into any GS AD and get one. It's a bit strange to be like "yeah I got one of the 300 blue, but it's not limited enough. I want no one else to ever be able to have one of these."

As an update, I got my build update email this morning. So simmering down a bit, and excitement is back up to previous levels (and beyond.)

When I became aware of the C65 Sandhurst last year, I had already made my planned and funded collecting purchase for 2022 Yet I really liked it. I've had a series of field style watches over the years, and as a result I had a pretty fixed set of requirements that the Sandhurst met:

  • Hacking
  • 100m or more of water resistance
  • COSC Grade if possible at a reasonable price
  • 39 mm or under
  • Selitta (or ETA) movement preferred due to service options

Anyhow, last year I decided to wait until 2023 to see if a Sandhurst would scratch the itch better, and then of course the Series 2 came out. Still a lovely watch , but I personally prefer the baton hands, old font for the indices, and spelled out logo. Anyhow, at that point I expected that I would be on a "snipe hunt" for a used Series 1. And then I tripped over the fact that a few Series 1 Sandhursts remained available earlier this month.

So far I am extremely happy with this in all respects, and I'm very hopeful that it is a long term keeper. (Shown on a Crown and Buckle Supreme Nato).

Cheers

Amazes me that it has taken all these years to get a bracelet like this. 2023, I thought I'd have a Jettsons car by now, instead I'm thankful for a decent bracelet!

Is the clasp on my dartmouth series 1 reversiable? One of the endlinks is scratched and i'd rather not see that scratch... I can tell that from within the clasp there is a springbar I could remove, but can i remove the pin on the other end so I can just reverse the clasp? The bracelet pins have no arrows.

I should add I PREFER my bracelets "reversed" from how they usually come because two of my watches have the best fit that way, and I now just reverse all of them.

You could always take the whole bracelet off and flip it.

Thats the thing, the bracelet flipped has the scratched endlink. I tried removing the pin holding each endlink but my poker tool isnt narrow enough to get deep enough. I got it about half way out. I can probably order one. that was my only issue with the watch, it had a decent scratch on it out of the packaging on the endlink. Overall I really like it still.

This is why I warn people to very slowly removed the films from the bracelet and inspect thoroughly as you do so and STOP, photograph and document any defect. I went through some aggravation trying to get my brand new botched polishing on bracelet clasp and several links fixed under warranty because I removed the films and sized it. They said it was 'used' when I returned it because the films were gone and I sized it.

They tried to turn this around on me, said that the bracelet would never have left them in this condition. I took the pics the day after it was delivered and emailed them the same day. This resulted in numerous frustrating emails and phone calls, but they finally did the right thing. It took many weeks though. There were a couple links in this condition too.

THIS IS NICE. What model
Took me a bit of sleuthing but finally figured out what model this was! Only 50 made - lucky you got one! I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled for one to pop up in the sales section. What a beautiful watch!
This was a collaboration with WatchGecko and you are correct only 50 were made. They sold out pretty quickly within a few hours.

I got mine on the blue suede strap and the blue nato. Pretty cool release.

After about 2 months of ownership, I'm compelled to share my love for this watch. It's gotten almost all of my wrist time since it arrived, and the enjoyment to dollar ratio cannot be overstated. I was seriously considering a GO Senator Excellence black dial, and figured I'd get an affordable watch with arabics to potentially scratch that itch for the time being. The Sandhurst Series II has more than fulfilled my expectations. While it's certainly no GO, there's something to be said for not worrying one iota about wearing the CW wherever and whenever for 1/10 of the price.

I had some reservations about the new number font and updated handset, but the readability of the signature CW handset is top-notch. It might just be the perfect modern field watch. I love the case, the oversized crown, and the red accents on the second hand and crown, as well as the box sapphire crystal. If I could choose, I'd probably prefer the older baton style hands, but I'd definitely rather have the logo-only dial sans full name.

This watch could very well be my only watch for travel this Spring. All it will need is the addition of the new CW bracelet. Thoughts on the updated bracelet from those that own one?
