I bought this AQ6020-53x (1 of 200 pcs made) out of Japan on 2/3/21. The watch came on 2/17/21 and was spot-on (running .2sec late) and I did not touch it and still have not beyond dealing with DST (i.e. hour hand).
Today as of 5/27/22 the watch is about .7 sec late, i.e. a losing half a second over the period of 15 months. I am really impressed.
The watch did not leave my hand and I did not babied it. It saw me doing all kind of work from physics :) to fixing home appliances, changing oil and working in my yard using my tractor etc. The Super Ti holds up incredibly well with no noticeable scratches etc.
Here it is against GPS clock today

And here are two today's pictures to show the wear and tear (almost non-existent). Not even on the clasp.

Awesome; thanks so much for the report and good to know the 0100 is holding up! I have the Chronomaster, and it's more like +1 per month (as opposed to +/- 5 per year), but it's not always on wrist. The Super Titanium though has also prevented even slight scratches---remains spotless.

Enjoy yours for many years and congrats on a spectacular time piece!

Hopefully we'll get another update soon ;-)
Have you looked at variations month to month ? There could be variations both ways that yearly checks won't identify.
Also how did you measure the offset, with the video method ?

Love the combination of world beating accuracy, titanium and that mother of pearl dial. Great to see the astounding accuracy over time, too. In another thread you posted pictures of the movement but they are no longer there. Is there a way to see those pictures somewhere? Perhaps it was just the view through the case back?

I'm reasonably happy with the blue washi paper version; it's the only one I'd consider right now, but...to be sure, they should do more with it. But, if we look at everything in the A0x0 range? It's rather rare.

I am with you on the GS dials. They have excellent designs like snowflake, white birch etc. However, I tend to like simpler dials which IMO have superior legibility and beauty. It took me a while hunting my GS JDM only SBGA273, as I wanted it's beautiful black dial and the lume hands.

My hi-end mechanical watches tend to be more entertaining though :)

Decided to bring this to here.
Like with my other hobbies I was interested in different approaches to watch making.

For almost 3 years since I got it, this Citizen AQ6020-53X pretty much stopped my watch rotation.

Like we see 1s/year accuracy proven to be better than that in it's almost 3 years with me.

Think of Horology..
as it applies to watches, is often referred to as "the art of making mechanical watches". On the other hand, coming from "horology" dictionary definition, it is the science of measuring the time and the result of this is an instrument for measuring the time.

There should be no doubt that Citizen 0100 movement being the most accurate self-contained watch in the World with +/- 1 sec per year is truly an instrument developed with the science of measuring the time. And if you set up a goal of +/- 1 SPY accuracy you'd dismiss mechanical movements from the get go, as simply no mechanical movement can possibly touch this precision. This is not to say that developing a quartz watch which would be that accurate was an easy task. There are many enemies to the watch precision of even the best of the best quartz movements like temperature changes, gravity, mechanical shocks etc. to name a few. And this Citizen movement design targeted them all with AT-cut crystal which vibrates at 8.4 MHz frequency and smart position management and shock reaction control. That means that if you set the watch accurately today it will still be within a minute accurate in 59 years from now.

The watch uses an in-house movement that is INDIVIDUALLY calibrated to meet the accuracy specifications for every particular watch and tested to deliver. Mechanically the movement uses backlash suppression mechanism and high-precision LIGA process for all gearing. The electronics is no less amazing and provides smart algorithms to keep the watch precision as committed by specs while utilizing solar panel and the battery which is not required to be replaced.

Citizen AQ60xx design is extraordinary with it's simplicity and artistic features to communicate what this watch truly is.

Beyond design, the execution of the watch mechanism, the case and the bracelet is as good as any other watch on the market even in 10X of this Citizen price bracket.

Nick had mentioned to me at one point that there was a critical component for the clock (don't remember which one) that had become impossible to get.

Today I see this note on the page (though I don't know when this note was added):
NOTE: After a two-year wait the critical component is in hand and boards will be manufactured forthwith. V7 should be available early next month.
So that's good news.

But I also see this note on the page:
The store will be closed between January 14 and February 17.
Hopefully when the store re-opens in mid-February he'll have stock on hand and can take orders.

I'll probably order another one at that time just to be safe. I have two in operation (one in my office and one in my master bedroom) and one spare. But I think I'd be happier if I had a second spare. Also my current spare has the blue LED digits and I find that my eyes have a hard time focusing on the blue from a distance. My eyes can focus on the red no problem - even from across the room.

I just saw the blue dial version of this watch in person in Japan. It looks better in person. It plays with the light a bit, and has some “glitter” on the dial. I’m still not crazy about the design, but it’s better than I thought.

Today is 3 year anniversary of the watch being with me and I decided to give a 36 month update.

Like I said on my 1st post, I bought this AQ6020-53x (1 of 200 pcs made) new out of Japan on 2/3/21. The watch came on 2/17/21 and was spot-on (running .2sec late) and I did not touch it and still have not beyond dealing with DST (i.e. hour hand).

The watch barely leaves my wrist and after 3 years it cosmetically looks new. The super Ti body and bracelet hold really well.

After 36 month from the day it came it is running exactly 3 seconds late now. Taking into account that it came running .2sec late the watch is 2.8sec late in 3 years i.e. meeting the spec of 1sec/year accuracy.

I wanted to post today's pic of the watch with my home GPS clock, unfortunately, as we have a storm today the clock does not get the satellite signals.

However GPS clock app on my phone is getting the satellites and here goes the picture.

The reference to "your clock" in the app is obviously for my phone clock :)

What an awesome timepiece. After blowing my wad on a Seiko Springdrive about 18 months ago, I need another Chronomaster in my life lol.

I also wanted to show today's closeup pics so you can see how the watch holds on with daily use. And I do not baby it. Just wear it and forget.

Duratect or Super Titanium which is Citizen's proprietary surface-hardening technology, proves to be lightweight and both scratch- and rust-resistant. Even the bracelet clamp is scratch free after 3 years. Great version of Ti indeed.

OK, this is an update on a scary moment today.
I am not babying my watch and take "wear and forget" approach.
So today I was working on my beloved tractor adjusting / fixing the cargo platform and then changing oils etc.

At the end I had pretty dirty hands. Having an upcoming call I quickly washed my hands with hot soapy water and went to my meeting. Few hours later I noticed that my watch STOPPED at 2:30pm the time when my meeting started. It was after 6pm...

I thought it was due to the hot and soapy water, although I am showering with the watch now and then it was never a a problem.

So I shake it, it did not help. I decided to charge it in the evening sunlight. After 30 mins or so the watch's second hand did not move..

Since this is a JDM model I started thinking about what would it take me to fix the problem sending the watch to Citizen Japan.

I took the watch in my hands and started more carefully inspect it to then notice that the crown was out. Ah, I pushed it in and the watch sure started to work, as expected. Stupid me and scary moment.

On the good side of it, I set the watch with my GPS clock and since I know the watch was running slow at the rate of about .8 or so sec per year, I set it about 1 sec ahead.

So, if I do not brake it in coming year it would be just on in a year or so. :)

Keep going my Citizen!
